Holy Trinity Newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well done to Eagle Class for their lovely assembly on Friday. Although I wasn’t able to see it on Friday I had managed to see the dress rehearsal and I heard all about how well it was received. Excellent Eagles!

We all enjoyed the “Sharing our Learning” session last week. It was so nice to see parents and siblings celebrating the work that goes on in school. The next date is the 12th July. We hope that you have also found this week’s parent/teacher meetings useful.

I was delighted to hear that our very own Mary Evans has had her book, “Who Let the Gods Out”, chosen as the Waterstones Children's Book of the Month for February. Well done Mary!

We wish you all an excellent half term.

Best wishes, Penny Cox

Richmond in Bloom - School Poster Competition. Pupils are invited to take part in the Richmond Borough in Bloom 2017 poster competition which has now been launched.  The competition provides a great way for children and young people to express their artistic talents and to learn more about their natural environment. There has been a very high standard of artwork each year and it is clear that there are some very creative young artists in the borough. Here is a link to the electronic version of the flyer and entry details.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I thought that the Christmas Fair was brilliant! All the parents did such a wonderful job of making it a really special occasion for the children. I talked to the children about what they had enjoyed most and these are some of their responses, “the cakes!”, “the craft stall, I made some nice things”, “the chocolate tombola because I got 5 prizes!”, “the games stall because you got a prize even if you didn’t win”, and finally “helping Mr O’Sullivan tidy up”…A great day. Thank you so much to everyone who was involved.

If your child’s account goes a week into arrears we will contact you and tell you that if the account is not settled within the following week then we will stop serving lunches to your child. We are doing this to prevent families from running up big debts. The easiest thing to do is to pay for the lunches at the beginning of each week. All payments online please.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are all very excited about the Christmas Fair on Saturday. Thank you to everyone who is working so hard to prepare a real treat for the whole school community. The aim is to use the funds raised to purchase a more modern minibus.

The reception children had a wonderful time at their autumn party on Friday – thanks again to Lisa Moody and all the other parents who helped.

Important Information  “The Power of One“.  This was a very powerful performance that helped the children to think through their behaviour and its consequences. It empowered the children to get help if they saw others being treated unkindly. Part of the KS2 performance was about cyber bullying. Many of our year 5 and 6 children told the performers that they had Facebook accounts or were on WhatsApp and the like, in order to have these accounts the children must have lied about their age and they are potentially putting themselves at risk of cyberbullying or exploitation. Please do have oversight of your child’ on line communications. We are very grateful to the PTA who funded these performances.

Christmas Dates. Junior carol concert - evening of Monday 12th December at Holy Trinity Church. Starts at 6.15pm. The church will be open at 6pm. The children should be in school uniform. We hope that all junior children will be able to attend as they have been practising very hard.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for another excellent year for Holy Trinity. We are finishing the year with an even higher standard of teaching and learning throughout the school, enhanced sport and playground equipment, more music on offer, the highest number of pupils that we have ever had, amazing fund raising from the PTA, a superbly enhanced junior library, the highest number of applications for reception places, excellent results and a strong strategic vision from the governors. If you look under the “Performance Data” section of the website you will also see a report on Holy Trinity from our School Improvement Partner (essentially, an inspector from the local authority).

I would like to thank all the members of the staff team for their continued devotion to our children. Our staff and governors are extremely talented; we are very blessed to have them. We are so grateful for the fabulous contribution that our parent body had made to all these achievements.

Tomorrow we will be saying goodbye to our wonderful Jade and Emerald classes as they begin their exciting new phase at secondary school. They are a gifted group who will be greatly missed. We hope that you have a lovely summer and we look forward to seeing you all on the 7th September.
