“The Twelve Ways to Help the PTA”

On the first day of Christmas, the stars were shining bright.

I bought tickets for the Quiz Night.

(£15 each THIS FRIDAY orders to the office or on the door, please let us know if you’re coming for catering.)

On the second day of Christmas, it soon occurred to me:

I must buy a Christmas Tree.

(Forms at the office or: http://ptaholytrinityschool.org.uk. 4ft/5ft/6ft = £30/£40/£50. Payment to the office.)

On the third day of Christmas, I thought a lot out loud:

A gift for No Parents Allowed.

(We need gifts for your kids to buy you. So make them good. Or just get that stuff out of that drawer. Label “Gift Stall” and leave in the shed.)

On the fourth day of Christmas, as I was doing chores

I thought I’d be Santa Claus.

(Father Christmas is very busy right now. If you can spare an hour for our Santa’s Grotto, at least one member of the PTA will sit on your lap. *NB: might be a Dad*)

On the fifth day of Christmas, when I was in the shower:

MUST POWER HOUR!

(Sign up with your rep. The fair is run by parent power. We need you. You need us. But we need you more.)

On the sixth day of Christmas, the silent auction needs

Lots of great lots and a page of outstanding deeds.

(This year we are doing a Parents’ Page of Promises. I’m giving a creative writing class. What are you doing?)

On the seventh day of Christmas, I had a lot to learn

I said I would do a star turn.

(We’d love some more performances at the Christmas Fair. Don’t be shy. We’re not.)

On the eighth day of Christmas, I had a little think

The Chairman must need a drink

(Always. Thanks.)

On the ninth day of Christmas, I knew not what to do

I signed up to Bar-be-que

(C’mon Dads, there’s meat, fire and beer at the Christmas Fair. What more do you need?)

On the tenth day of Christmas, I knew the raffle ran

I sold tickets to my Gran.

(Keep on pushing those tickets this is a HUGE earner for the PTA. Stubs and money to the office, please.)

On the eleventh day of Christmas, a thought went round and round

It must be the Chairman’s round?

(Sorry, really busy )

On the twelfth day of Christmas, it was the Christmas Fair

12 bits of plastic, 11 tea and coffees, 10 chocolate brownies, 9 silent auctions, 8 creepy crawlies, 7 choc tomobolas, 6 Santa’s Grottos

FIVE MULLED WINES!

4 face paints, 3 hot dogs, 2 Christmas crafts

AND I WON THE MINI iPAD!

Mary Smyth (PTA Chair c.2013. Naughty List c.1979.)
