Curriculum Overview

Geography at Holy Trinity aims to give children a wider perspective on their world and to develop the skills of research, investigation and analysis.

Children learn through the use of a variety of teaching resources, including ICT, and a range of different teaching styles.  Children are encouraged to develop transferable skills which they can use across the curriculum and in later life, such as asking perceptive questions and thinking critically.

This is achieved by learning through a variety of topics which include castles, London the rainforest, Richmond and the Tudors. Children learn about the local area in order to compare and contrast their environment and lives to other regions in the UK and the rest of the world, for example Benin. Both human and physical aspects of the world are considered and the children look at the importance of sustainable development and environmental problems.
