Dear Parents and Carers 26/05/2022
Half Term
I do hope you all have a lovely break over half term next week. I just wanted to remind you that we have an inset Day on Monday 6th June so whilst the staff will all be in school that day, children are only expected back on Tuesday 7th June.
Gratitude
I have been having to work remotely from the north of England since last Wednesday dealing with a difficult family emergency and am so grateful to all the staff in school who have supported me in making this possible. I know we often gave thanks to the NHS during lockdown but I have been incredibly grateful for their skill, kindness and dedication over the last week. There is an opportunity to show gratitude to our teachers today as it is Thank a Teacher Day and the Department for Education have set up a system where you can say thank you to any teacher or Assistant Teacher by sending a free, personalised card for Thank a Teacher Day.
Jubilee Assembly
On Tuesday, the whole school took part in an assembly to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Year 6 provided the commentary linking each decade of the Queen’s reign whilst Nursery to Year 5 each covered the key events in each. They have also been learning this very catchy song, Our Queen:
Picnic
Whilst the weather was not perfect, it was typically British for the Jubilee Picnic. It was great that it could go ahead and that our commemorative tree could be planted alongside a plaque to remind us of this special occasion in the years to come.
Questionnaire
I apologise for the glitches with the link for the parent questionnaire last week. I hope you all received the amended link as we would be very grateful if you found the time to complete it. The deadline is 7th June and if you include your name and contact details you stand the chance of winning a £30 voucher. Here is the link that should work
