Governors’ Meetings & Minutes

Holy Trinity Newsletter                           04/12/2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to those of you who were able to come along to support the Christmas Fair on Saturday. It was a wonderful occasion that brought the whole community together. Thank you once again to the PTA and all who made the day possible. This week has seen the start of advent, the official countdown to Christmas. We have been lighting the first candle on our advent wreath in collective worship. Our Nativity plays will be held next week and we will be taking a voluntary collection for Crisis at Christmas at these events to help the homeless over Christmas. Your generosity last year raised enough to provide a shower, clean clothes, a Christmas lunch and health check for 30 people. Let’s see if we can raise even more this year. Some of our year six children were able to attend a STEM day at Christ’s Secondary School on Monday alongside children from three other local primary schools. The children were involved in code-breaking, rocket designing and being software engineers. We were proud of how all our children engaged with the activities and pleased that one of the teams from Holy Trinity came away with one of only two prizes. Some of you may have seen that Holy Trinity featured in the recently published Sunday Times Top State Primary Schools list – the school was ranked 138th having previously been 415th. Thank you and well done to all who worked so hard to achieve this.

Psalms 27:14 - "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."

Chaplains Message: If we are honest, we all hate to wait. Infact, most often we say something like, "I can't believe this so taking so long; it's costing me time I don't have!" That's because most of us consider waiting to be a wasting. But it's not so with God. This Advent as we prepare for Christmas I pray that God's plans for our lives will not be thwarted. So let's wait patiently, knowing that waiting is never wasted when you are waiting on God.
