Dear Parents and Carers,

On Friday you will get your child’s annual report. Please remember that this is written for you to read first and then share with your child as you see appropriate. We are delighted with the progress that the children have made. If you have a child in Year 6 you will receive their report on Friday 12th July so that we can include their ‘SATs’ results, which we get from the Department for Education on Tuesday 9th July. Inside the report you get the information about your child’s teachers and support staff for next year. We are moving away from the distinction of LSA and TA and are calling the staff who assist the teachers Assistant Teachers. These Assistant Teachers will be working flexibly across the year group to support the children according to their needs. We have some weddings happening over the summer! Congratulations to Miss Flower who will be returning as Mrs Palmer and to Miss Docherty who will be returning as Mrs Lane. We are absolutely delighted for them. Miss Morgan is switching to her married name over the holidays and will return as Mrs Dewale. We have had to make a change to our nursery provision for the autumn term. Due to our numbers we are only offering the morning nursery. Mrs Bateman will be working with the team to decide whether the school will be offering the 30 hours provision at some point next year. We have a number of staff who are moving on to other adventures at the end of this academic year. I am deeply indebted to all these members of the team who have contributed so much to our children’s and the school’s success over the years, so thank you to; Miss Beale, Mrs Campbell, Ms Dendy, Mrs Durrant, Miss Hodgkinson, Miss Page and Mr Mielcarek. Miss Shepley is leaving the classroom but will still be working in the Kingfisher Club.

Best wishes,

Penny Cox

Christ’s School Summer Fair. The fete will be held in the Sports Hall and the school fields and will be held on Friday 12th July from 12.20pm until 3pm.

Chaplain’s Corner Last week I was questioned by one of my sons as I put out the recycling; "Dad, I thought you 'loved' the environment - what's this plastic bottle doing out here?"  This activism was a real picture of love in action for our world. Love does more to solve our problems than anything else does. Of all the gifts God offers His children, love is the greatest. Of all the fruits of the Holy Spirit, love is the first. So this week I'm going to try to role model these words from 1 John 3:18; 'Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth'
