Dads’ footballA great 7-3 win against East Sheen today and big thanks for Aziz to jump in at the 11th hour to give us our 11. So with literally just 11 players and the weather looking really grim it all came good in the end, with our strikers pulling out all the stops to secure a win.
Having gone 1-0 down with a spectacular chip from Andrew at ESP early doors it looked like we might be in trouble, but we swiftly pulled it back to go 2-1 in the lead within 20 minutes only to see a very dubious penalty given to make it 2-2 at half time.
There was a point early second half when things were looking a little bit touch and go, we weren’t taking our chances and missing shot after shot, having then gone down 3-2 things looked a little worrying, but not for long as Dean and Carl started to hone their shots netting 3 & 4 respectively.
But the whole team rolled up their socks and gave it 100% again, so well done to all. Thanks to Jak for going in goal with both Luke and Damian injured, even though you put our hearts in our mouths a few times.
Goal Scorers: Dean Chesters – 3: Carl Thomas – 4 (Mike V gave a few assists so a deserved mention) M.O.M. Neil JeffriesWe play the staff this Friday afternoon hopefully at 5pm on the new school pitch and our next Dad’s game is against Sheen Mount on Sunday 17th November.” The dads will be playing a staff team at 5pm this Friday at the school.

The Full of life Fair “On Tuesday 1st October 2013, some members of the school council (Joe, Eibhin and Serena) had a stall at the Full of Life Fair (an event for older members of the community). At the fair we sold clay pots and sweets, we were very lucky and raised £62.75. Many things were going on such as mosaic making, arts and crafts, dancing and singing. This fair was aimed towards people over 50; the fair was at Twickenham Rugby Ground. The fair was very enjoyable it was inside away from the cold. We mostly enjoyed making mosaic tiles and running the stall, everybody was very friendly and we were the only school there.” By Joe and Eibhin

In the news. You may have seen there was a picture and a mention in the local paper of Holy Trinity children selling their jam at the opening of the Whole Foods Store.

Local Community There are lots of lovely art activities going on at Orleans House Gallery over half term, please contact them for more details:Orleans House Gallery, Riverside, Twickenham TW1 3DJ

Happy Wednesday all,

So much to get through this week, but not before I make my weekly dedication, which this week is to our brilliant Teaching Assistants. Many of our TAs are also parents at the school and all juggle an enormous amount while supporting our younglings. So if you’re super keeny like Mrs Beaney, a high-flier like Mrs Fryer or simply the thrill that is Mrs Hill, TAs, we salute you all.

Thanks for all your donations to Bag2School, we’ll let you know the grand total when we do. Barely is that behind us, when it’s time for our next big collection: CHRISTMAS FAIR 2013! We need to fill our stalls with glorious goodies, so if you’re having an Autumn apocalypse, please could you put aside any toys, books, DVDs or 2nd hand uniform. Please could everyone adhere to a few guiding principles:

1) Please can all donations be of a quality you’d like to buy yourself. We all have enough rubbish in our own homes, thank you very much.

2) Please can all donations be clean, safe and appropriate. We’re looking for items that are 50p, not Fifty Shades.

3) Please can you kindly sort and label your donations. As a twice Toy Stall survivor, believe me that five extra minutes of your time saves hours of your co-parents’ sanity.

4) Please bring enough money to the fair to buy everything back again once your kids find it.

PTA 2013. Ain’t about the cha-ching cha-ching. Ain’t about the bla-bling bla-bling.

Once again Barnard Marcus are kindly sponsoring our fair by donating £12 for every Christmas Fair board we put outside a house. If you’d be happy to have an estate agent board advertising the fair outside your home, please drop the brilliant Maryna a line with your address at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Hopefully you have received my e-mail via your class reps about stall allocation for this year’s Christmas Fair. As a committee, we are determined to be bold, dynamic and adventurous… and so we’ve left it exactly the same as last year. I’m sure you’ll agree this is the fairest way to divvy up the jobs and get on with creating a great fair. This year, we’d also love to hear from parents with a craft or gift to sell in return for a donation to the PTA – if you’d be interested in a stall at the fair, drop us a line on the PTA e-mail address.

We also need some brilliant musical talent for the fair. If you have the voice of an angel, the moves like Jagger or can play it again, Sam, do get in touch. If you’d get laughed off The X-Factor, please don’t.

One answer to life, the universe and everything is 42. The other is raising money for our PTA. A fun way to do this is the Quiz Night on Friday 15th November. This is a popular night, so please return your forms, with correct cash or cheque made out to Holy Trinity PTA to the Officeand come and join in. Make your own team, or come along and make some new friends. Like me. I’ve not been invited onto a team yet. Can’t think why.

And if you’re already doing your Christmas Shopping, or even if you’re not, please remember to go via School Fundraising: http://www.schoolfundraising.org.uk/holy-trinity-ce-primary

Hope to see you at the PTA meetings this week – enjoy yourselves,

Mary Smyth (Head of the PTA. Body of the Michelin Man)
