Dear Parents and Carers 15/06/2023
Year 1 trip to London
On Wednesday 7th June the Year One children took part in a great adventure travelling into London on the train,
taking a ride on the London Eye and then an exciting cruise on the River Thames. Our objective for the trip was to see
the many landmarks of London about which we had been learning. The view from the London Eye was fantastic and
we all found we were able to spot the various landmarks with ease due to our classroom studies and having seen so
many pictures in advance. We loved seeing Buckingham Palace in the distance and linked that to our story about the
Queen's Hat and could well imagine a queen's hat flying off in the wind and travelling around London. We were really
amazed at how long the river Thames is and how busy it was with boats and vessels. What a special day we all had.
The teachers were especially impressed with the behaviour of the children and could not stop commenting on how
grown up they had been and a pure joy to escort on an outing.
