Our School Day

Nursery: 8.45am to 11.45am or 12.45pm to 3.45pm
Infants: 8.45am to 12.15pm – lunchtime – 1.15pm to 3.20pm
Juniors: 8.45am to 12.30pm – lunchtime – 1.30pm to 3.30pm

The hours worked by children each week are:

* Nursery: 15 hours
* Key Stage 1: (Reception, years 1 and 2): 32.9 hours
* Key Stage 2: (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6): 33.75 hours

Children should arrive at school by 8.45am. Parents are asked to see that they go straight to the playground and do not congregate on the pavement in Carrington Road or near the school gate.

The Breakfast Club starts at 7.45am for children in the reception class and upwards.

The Kingfisher Club, our after school childcare provision runs until 6pm.

Parents should make every effort to ensure that their child(ren) arrive at school on time for registration. The registers are closed at 9.00am for the morning session – if children arrive after this time they will have missed the start of their teaching time and are marked as late. If children arrive after 9.30am they are marked as absent for the morning session.

Parents collecting children should wait outside their child’s classroom patio door.

If any child has been away from school, parents must, under government legislation, send a written note on the child’s return to school. A telephone call is not sufficient.

‘Authorised absences’ cover such things as illness and school sporting trips. If the school is not notified of lateness or absence this is classed as ‘unauthorised absence’.
