Dear Parents and Carers 30/09/2021
Harvest
This year we are celebrating Harvest by supporting the work of Richmond Foodbank. We will be collecting non-perishables to be distributed throughout the Borough to help those in need of support. The items they need every week are: canned meat (such as stews) and fish, long life fruit juice and milk, crisps, chocolates and cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, cleaning sprays, bleach etc.
Year 3 will be leading our Harvest Thanksgiving tomorrow, so we would be grateful if you could send your donations in with your child if you haven’t already done so. Parents of year 3 children are welcome to attend the Harvest Thanksgiving at 9.15am in the hall.
Snacks
If your child is in Nursery, Reception or Key Stage 1, please do not send snacks in for break time as fruit is available for them. If your child is in Key Stage 2 (years 3 – 6) and wants to bring a snack in, please just send them in with a piece of fruit. We are currently finding a wide range of snacks coming into school, many of which are not healthy. I would be grateful if you could support us with this to promote a healthy diet.
Playground
Please do not allow your child to play on any equipment or play football before or after school. As there are no staff available to supervise or administer first aid, we would not be insured if an accident were to happen.
School Street
Our School Street was presented and discussed at the September Transport and Air Quality committee last week and the committee approved the scheme being made permanent – here is the link to the decision making page. The Council will be making the traffic order permanent and aiming to improve the signs to make the School Street more visible.
Also, please use Carrington Road considerately and legally. We have a neighbour who keeps taking photographs of cars that drive down the road during the School Street times, who pull up in front of the school gates or park in a way that causes inconvenience to residents. These photographs are forwarded to me in the hope that my appeal will have a positive impact but if not, it is likely that they will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.
Holy Trinity Prayer Group
Our first school prayer meeting of the term will be this coming Friday (1st October) from 2.30pm – 3.15pm in the Kingfisher Hut. Everyone is welcome, so please come along if you are able to.
We’d love to be supporting our school community through prayer, so if you’re unable to attend but would like us to be praying for you, then please do send any prayer requests beforehand to Nina Barclay at; barclaynina7@gmail.com
“He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him.

Young Carers
There are at least 700,000 young carers in the UK but many young people don’t realise that they are a young carer. A young carer is someone under 18 who is caring for someone at home who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems. They often take on practical and/or emotional caring responsibilities that would normally be expected of an adult. We are keen to ensure that any child in our school who is a young carer is identified and supported appropriately. If you think your child might be a young carer or be affected by any of the issues highlighted, do please get in touch either by emailing me directly abateman@htprimary.com or calling me via the school office.
