Dear Parents and Carers 04/11/2021
I do hope that you all enjoyed the half term break and are beginning to adjust to the darker evenings.
Parent Governor
You should all have received information regarding the opportunity to become a parent governor at Holy Trinity. Please do take time to read through the information and consider if you have the skills and time available to support the school in this way. Please contact Louise Prendergast lprendergast@htprimary.com in the school office for more information or another nomination form if interested.
Cargo bike event
Council officers and Sustrans officers visited school on Tuesday with some cargo bikes to raise awareness of them – Mr Aylward was keen to have a go! Year 6 are also having Bikeability Training this week and next to enable them to be safe cyclists out on the roads.
Climate Conference
Nina, Alex, Freeman and Aisha, our Year 5 Eco Representatives, attended the Schools Climate Conference held in Twickenham. They learnt about climate change and COP26, and then they were involved in a debate. They represented Holy Trinity well and were able to give informed opinions on climate change from the view of different stakeholders. This event was attended by environmental officers, the MP for Twickenham, and a climate scientist. It was interesting speaking with them and hearing their opinions on climate change. The children were given an opportunity to ask questions and give ideas to combat climate change in our borough.
Book Fair
The Book Fair will continue to run after school on Thursday and Friday. Do try to find time to browse through the books in the infant playground.
Online Safety
Peter Cowley led an excellent session about keeping safe online. For those of you who missed the session, Peter has provided the following links. The information is relevant for all ages and I am sure you will find it helpful and informative. https://bit.ly/zerototen See QR code below.
Parent and Teacher Prayer Meeting
The first school prayer meeting of the term will be this coming Friday (5th November) @ 2.30pm – 3.15pm in the Kingfisher Hut. Everyone is welcome, so please do come along if you are able. We’d love to be supporting our school community through prayer, so if you’re unable to attend but would like us to be praying for you, then please do send any prayer requests beforehand to Nina Barclay barclaynina7@gmail.com
