Dear Parents and Carers
School will be closed on Monday 15/09/2022
Following the sad news of the death of Queen Elizabeth, Dan – our vicar – came into school on Friday morning to lead our collective worship. We noted that it was a sad and special day, reflecting on the Queen but how we had all been able to celebrate her life during our Platinum Jubilee Celebrations. For some children, the extensive coverage of public displays of grief might raise feelings that they cannot name and questions you might not feel confident to answer. For the children it is important that we try to do so. As we mourn for the Queen, and welcome our new King, inevitably children will still want to be children, and our everyday school life will continue. However, as you will be aware, the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II will take place next Monday and this day will be a Bank Holiday meaning that school will be closed.
Volunteer librarians please
Following our recent Meet the Teacher Meetings, I am grateful to those of you who have expressed an interest already in volunteering to help to manage our Key Stage 1 and 2 libraries. If you have given me your details, I have now passed them on to Mrs Brown. If anybody else is able to volunteer, we would be very grateful so that we can spread the load. Please email Mrs Brown hbrown@htprimary.com so she can start to organise a rota and arrange for Mrs Wilkins to come and do some training.
