Dear Parents and Carers 29/09/2022
Year 6 had a fantastic week last week at Osmington Bay in Dorset. The highlights of the week were the water sports and the fossil hunting, although the giant swing was also a big hit. The weather was super, with some of the children enjoying watching the sunrise from their front doors. All the children were amazing (and especially our two on crutches), and it was a pleasure to enjoy this week with them. The children will be sharing some of their best bits in an assembly on Friday 21st October – year 6 parents are welcome.

Parent prayer meeting
Our parent prayer meeting will be returning again on Thursday 6th October between 9-10am in the Kingfisher Hut. We’d love to welcome you to join us for a cup of coffee, a piece of cake and some time of prayer for our school community and also for one another. It’s a very relaxed meeting, so please do feel free to stay for as long as you can. If you aren’t able to join us but would value prayer, please send your requests to Nina Barclay by email at barclaynina7@gmail.com “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Barnes Children’s Literature Festival Kid’s Book Club
Have you discovered the new monthly book club for kids organised by the Barnes Children’s Literature Festival? Every month the Festival recommends a book that they’ve loved, then the kids can get together with the author, ask their own questions and share their ideas with their book club friends.
Their next meeting is on Saturday afternoon 8 October when they’ll be joined by the multi-award-winning author Christopher Edge with his latest mind-blowing, mind-bending adventure, Escape Room. Suitable for 9-12 years
All events are held at St Paul’s School. https://www.barneskidslitfest.org/litsoc/
