Dear Parents and Carers 06/01/2023
Happy New Year! I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas break and were well enough to see those you
had planned to see and do the things you had planned to do. It has been wonderful seeing the children back
in school this week pleased to see their friends and keen to learn. As we have been thinking about the year
ahead, we talked about New Year Resolutions – some children were very keen to share what resolutions
their parents had made – and considered what we might want to do this year that would benefit ourselves
and others.
Parent Governor election
As we have more candidates than the one vacancy, we will need to hold a secret ballot (vote) to decide our
next Parent Governor. We will be using an electronic process to reduce the amount of paper used, reduce
costs and aid efficiency: each parent/carer will be sent an email with a unique voting code, and details of the
two candidates. Under each candidate’s name will be a link to their statements with some background about
them. You then press one button to vote.
The system only permits one vote per person. If two parents have given the same email address to the
school, then two voting invitations will be sent out to that address – one for each parent.
The school is assured that the process is compliant with Data Protection regulations; votes sent in are not
linked to anything other than a unique code – they are anonymous. The company being used for this service
(Choice Voting) is used by other schools and is well-regarded.
Parents who prefer to use non-electronic means to vote are invited to obtain a paper ballot form from the
school office.
Voting will open on Monday 9 th January 2023, and close on Tuesday 17 th January at noon.
School meals
Scopay accounts for those children in years 3 – 6 that pay for school meals have been made up for this term.
Please make sure that you make regular payments throughout the term so that accounts aren’t in arrears.
