Dear Parents and Carers 23/03/2023
Easter Holidays
Next Friday, 31st March, is the last day of the Spring term. The whole school will be walking down to church for our Easter Service at 9.30am – all are welcome to attend. School will end at 2.15pm and there will be no Kingfisher Club that day.
Stem Week Assembly
We had a wonderful STEM week which culminated in an assembly on Friday afternoon. Thank you to one of our parents, Lorraine Chiu, who came and spoke to us about her work in harnessing the power of the wind through wind turbines, and to each year group who presented their investigations in renewable energy. There was also an opportunity for some children to talk about their science projects. We are all convinced we have some budding scientists in our midst.
Rose Theatre
We were extremely proud of our Junior Choir as they performed at the Rose Theatre on Tuesday afternoon. They performed two songs, Roar and When I Grow Up, with the choir from Marshgate and remained on stage for the finale song that all the schools present joined in with.
Maths Masterclass
Well done to Nina, Sophie, Olly and Louis who represented Holy Trinity at a Maths Masterclass event at Kings House School.
Holly Lodge
Year 6 took part in a Junior Citizen Workshop at Holly Lodge on Tuesday where they were exposed to a range of scenarios that they could encounter in their daily lives and taught a variety of skills and suggested ways to deal with them.
International Day
Next Thursday 30th March, Holy Trinity will once again be holding an International Day to celebrate the cultural diversity in our school community. The day will begin with an assembly led by Year 4. We are also encouraging children to come in on the day wearing cultural clothing that is specific to their nationality, culture or religion – alternatively they could wear the colours of their national flag. Children do not have to dress up if they do not want to and, as it is not a Mufti Day, there is no requirement to bring a monetary donation.
Easter Egg Competition
The annual blown egg competition will take place as usual this year. Entries will be judged on the morning of Thursday 30th March which will be our international day. We therefore thought it would be good to have an international theme in the egg competition this year. Good luck!
Vacancy for Clerk to Governors
We are looking for a clerk who will help the school governors in the smooth running of the governing body by preparing agendas, taking minutes, giving admin support, etc. This is a part-time paid position and the closing date is Friday 21st April. You can find all the details here: https://www.eteach.com/job/clerk-to-the-governing-body-1319435
Swiss Students
Every summer we have two Swiss student teachers come and work in our school. This year they will be joining us for three weeks between the 5th and the 23rd June. They are looking for some accommodation relatively nearby. Please do let us know if you are able to help or have a room you would be happy to rent out during this time. Many thanks.
