Dear Parents and Carers
09/11/2023
Forest School
Year 2 had a great Forest School session this week. They made different types of bird feeders, made and played in
their own mud kitchen, learnt how to tie ropes and even more about living things and their habitats.
Welcome to the classroom.
Next Friday morning, 17th November, classrooms will be ‘open’ for you to come in and share your child’s learning.
Once the children have been registered, the classroom doors will be open between 9-10am for you to drop in. If you
have more than one child you are welcome to each of their classrooms within the hour.
Anti-Bullying Week
Next week is anti-bullying week across the UK and has the theme is Make A Noise About Bullying. We will begin the
week with Odd Socks Day – children can wear odd socks as a way to celebrate what makes us all unique.
Learning to understand and manage conflict is an important part of growing up. Bullying is not simply ;falling out':
Bullying is the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the
relationship involves an imbalance of power. It can happen face to face or online. (The Anti Bullying Alliance)
School Uniform
We have simplified our school uniform page on the website and simplified the uniform options. We have made the
trouser option dark grey only for both boys and girls. Girls who have navy trousers will be able to continue to wear
these but as and when they need to be replaced, please replace them with dark grey ones. Here is a reminder of the
winter uniform:
– White short sleeve polo shirt (these can be bought from the school office).
– Royal blue sweatshirt with school logo (available at the school office).
– Sensible black shoes (no trainers or boots).
– Navy skirt or pinafore dress.
– Dark grey smart tailored trousers or shorts.
– White or grey socks, navy tights.

Grand prize for the Mayor’s Love your Lunch challenge
The Mayor of London is inviting all London school children in years 3 to 6 to make a creative piece of work, celebrating
their experiences with school lunches and to tell us about what school meals mean to them, their friends, families, and
communities. We are asking children to design a creative piece of work on the theme:
‘The best thing about school lunches is…’
The winning pupil, along with their whole class, will win the opportunity to have their school lunch prepared for them
by the BOSH! chefs, Henry Firth and Ian Theasby! ALL entrants will receive a token of appreciation for sharing their
thoughts and ideas with the Mayor, including enamel badges, bookmarks and certificates signed by the Mayor.
Children entering the challenge will also have the chance to have their piece of work featured on the Mayor of
London’s website and social media. The deadline for entries is 20 November 2023 at 11:59pm. Information about the
challenge, including more details, terms and conditions and how to enter is included on our website here and you can

Please support your class rep's and sign up for the stalls that your year group is providing. This is only possible with
your help and is an important part of both providing the children with a fun day, helping the school and involving our
local community.
Wear your own clothes days.
We will be having wear your own clothes days every Friday until the fair in exchange for donations to support the stalls
at the Christmas Fair. Your class rep's will send out reminders! The dates and donations types are below and the
collection boxes will be by the gates or your classrooms.
Friday 10th Nov – Bottles
Friday 17th Nov – Chocolates
Friday 24th Nov – Chocolates / Cakes
Donations
We are collecting donations for Toys, Teddy's and No Parent's Allowed, a great opportunity to recycle (and clean out!)
those toys no longer used that they have grown out of and give them a new home to bring more years of enjoyment.
The collection boxes are outside the office and the main entrance to the school, all donations welcome!
Finally, the silent auction team is doing a great job reaching out to local businesses for donations, with some great
experiences and products in there already. If you own a business and would like to donate something yourself, please
reach out to the Yr 1 reps or myself at chair@ptaholytrinityschool.org.uk
Have a great week and see you at the fair in 2 weeks’ time!
