Dear Parents and Carers 01/09/2021
I hope that you have had a wonderful summer break whether you have stayed local or ventured further afield. We are so looking forward to welcoming your children back into school tomorrow and to welcoming you on site. For those of you who are new or have forgotten, school times are as follows:
KS1: 8.50 – 3.20
KS2: 8.50 – 3.30
The school gates will open at 8.40am and close again at 9am in the mornings then will open at 3.10pm and close again at 3.50pm in the afternoons – please drop off and collect your child at their classroom door. If you arrive late, please come to the school office to register your child.
For those of you joining us with a child in Reception or Nursery, your start date will be communicated to you under a separate communication and will not be tomorrow as home visits are yet to take place.
Children are not allowed to bring balls into the playground or play football & use the play equipment before or after school for safety and insurance reasons. Please support us by preventing your children from doing so.
There will be an opportunity for you to meet your child’s teacher and hear some of what the year has in store after school in one of the year group classrooms on the following dates:
Monday 6th September – Year 2
Tuesday 7th September – Year 1
Wednesday 8th September – Year 3
Thursday 9th September – Year 6
Friday 10th September – Year 5
Monday 13th September – Year 4
Your child will be able to wait in the other year group classroom where they will be looked after by a member of staff.
As children enjoyed bringing in their individual pencil cases and equipment so much last year, we are encouraging this to continue though would urge you to provide simple and small ones that do not cause a distraction.
Covid-19 – Whilst the majority of restrictions have been lifted, Covid has not disappeared and people will have a range of views, opinions and approaches to this. Please be sensitive to one another’s views and concerns and respect those seeking to maintain distance or choosing to wear masks. Within school, we no longer need to operate in bubbles but we will:
- Ensure good hygiene for everyone
- Maintain appropriate cleaning regimes
- Keep occupied spaces well ventilated
- Follow public health advice on testing, self-isolation and managing confirmed cases of Covid-19
The latest advice states that when an individual develops COVID-19 symptoms or has a positive test they should not come into school. Pupils, staff and other adults should follow public health advice on when to self-isolate. If anyone in school develops Covid-19 symptoms, however mild, we have been advised to send them home and follow public health advice. However, you will not be required to self-isolate if you are notified you have had close contact with someone with Covid-19 if you are fully vaccinated or are of school age. See When to self-isolate and what to do – Coronavirus (COVID-19) for more information.
With very best wishes
Alison Bateman
