Dear Parents and Carers 15/12/2022
Despite the high levels of sickness amongst staff and children, many have managed to enjoy all of the Christmas activities that have been taking place over the last couple of weeks. I finally succumbed to COVID, for the first time, and had to head home on Tuesday so have missed out on much of the fun this week and won’t be there for the end of term service in church tomorrow. I would however like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support over the last term and to wish you and your families a very happy and healthy Christmas. I look forward to seeing you all again in 2023. Alison Bateman
Choir perform at Greville House
Our choir were invited to sing to the residents of Greville House last Friday. They performed some of the songs that they sang at the Christmas Fair and the carols they have learnt for the Carol Service. The residents were delighted by the singing and the Christmas cards that year 2 had made for them all.
Rock Band Concert
On Friday afternoon the whole school were treated to a concert by our Rock Bands. There was a surprise performance at the end by a group called Take SATs! Look closely, you may recognise one or two of the members.
Fun in the snow.
Year 6 had lots of fun in the snow on Monday.
Reverse Advent Calendar
Tom from the Salvation Army came to collect all of the gifts that you have kindly donated through the Reverse Advent Calendar. The JLT asked him lots of questions about what the Salvation Army do and where all the gifts would be going. Tom was extremely grateful for the generosity of the Holy Trinity community especially in times where there is such great need.
Candlelit Carol Service
On Monday evening, Key Stage 2 gathered in church for our Candlelit Carol Service. The children all sang, some read bible readings and prayers but all did it beautifully. The choir also sang two songs including Carol of the Bells which Iryna, who is Ukrainian and has been leading the choir this term, chose as it is a Ukrainian song and gives a message of hope in times of hardship. Thank you to Matt and Eils Osgood who have worked with Key Stage 2 this term to make the children’s singing sound so wonderful and to Dan Wells for welcoming us all to the church and making it such a special occasion.
Year 1 and 2 Nativities
There were two amazing performances of Whoops-a-Daisy Angel by year 1 and 2 on Tuesday. Bumblebees combined with Ladybirds and Dragonflies with Butterflies to tell the story of a disorganised but lovable angel who was chosen to show the way to Bethlehem.

Thank you for your contributions to the Children’s Society, who provided the resources to make our Christingles, and Save the Children who promote Christmas Jumper day. We will count up the money and let you know how much was raised in due course.

Stay safe
This warning is from the Royal Life Saving Society about water safety is in response to the tragic news of four children who fell through frozen ice on a pond in the West Midlands. Tragically all four children lost their lives. As we face a prolonged cold spell, please talk to your children about the dangers of frozen water.

Vineyard Christmas appeal 2022
This year donations to Vineyard Community have helped over 400 local people experiencing homelessness, over 600 local refugees, and provided over 6,000 local people experiencing food poverty with emergency food.
Vulnerable families in our borough are facing their toughest winter ever. Imagine having cut back on every cost possible and still being unable to afford basic food, heating, or a safe place to live. The cost-of-living crisis is now an emergency for so many local families and individuals.
Will you help us to provide people who are struggling in our community with comfort, support, compassion and hope this Christmas?
Any donations will be gratefully received. https://www.justgiving.com/page/vineyardcommunity
With warmest wishes,
