Dear Parents and Carers 20/04/2023
I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and are looking forward to the Summer Term.
Lucy Ashby, our Deputy Head, is now back at Holy Trinity following a two-term secondment to a school in Hampshire – she is going to be sharing her adventures in our school assembly tomorrow.
Year 1 at Holly Lodge
Butterfly class enjoyed a trip to Holly Lodge on Monday as part of their new Science topic, Plants. Ladybird class will visit tomorrow. The children learnt about the different parts of a tree, picked leaves and used a leaf dial to match the leaf with the correct tree. They also learnt about pollination and different ways that seeds can spread. The children were able to look in the vegetable and herb garden and they each planted their own basil plant to take home!
Dates
Please note there are two Bank Holidays coming up soon meaning that school will be closed on Monday 1st May and Monday 8th May.
You may be aware that the NEU have proposed two new strike dates – 27th April and 2nd May. As previously, individual teachers will notify you if their class will not be open on those dates. The sponsored bounce will now take place on Wednesday 26th April.
We will be having a short celebratory Coronation picnic on Friday 5th May between 2.30 and 3.15 – all are welcome.
Just in case you didn’t see these requests before……
- Old Smart Phones: We would gratefully receive any old smart phones capable of taking photos. Ideally, we would like one for each class, solely for the purpose of taking photos, to simplify the process of capturing learning and special events. This will avoid the need to seek out the school camera and missing the moment. Many thanks!
- Swiss Students: Every summer we have two Swiss student teachers come and work in our school. This year they will be joining us for three weeks between the 5th and the 23rd June. They are looking for some accommodation relatively nearby. Please do let us know if you are able to help or have a room you would be happy to make available or rent out during this time.
