6th April 2024
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back for the summer term! I hope that you had a restful Easter and were able to enjoy some of the recent warm weather. It was lovely to meet some of you on the gate this morning and I look forward to meeting many more of you in the coming days and weeks.
The staff began term with an INSET day which focused on safeguarding updates, further development of our curriculum and in the afternoon gave me the opportunity to lead my first training session with the school’s staff. It was fantastic to see how the team collaborate, exchange ideas, identify strengths in one another and reflect on how they could further develop their own practice. We finished the day by committing to ‘team’ development targets to ensure a consistent offer for all of the pupils across our school.
It was wonderful to see the teams already putting some of these development points into action as I visited the classrooms this morning. During these, it was lovely to see the positive attitude that the pupils at the school demonstrate towards one another and their learning. I was also delighted to attend singing worship as this gave me the chance to introduce myself to the children and I am very much looking forward to leading my first worship with the whole school on Friday morning.
During this term, I will be splitting my time equally between Holy Trinity and St Paul’s C of E Primary School, Chessington. I have worked with the senior leadership team to establish a plan that will ensure stability for Holy Trinity in the times that I am not on site and have the flexibility to respond to situations at both schools as required.
As my deputy, Lucy Ashby will be in charge of the day to day running of the school on days when I am not on site and will be in regular contact with me in order to ensure a consistent response to situations by us as a team. I will continue to be contactable via the school office or my direct email (eevans@htprimary.com) throughout the week and can assure you that the children will be kept at the heart of all decisions that are being made by me and the rest of the team during the term ahead.
This term also offers us a fantastic opportunity to work in partnership as schools – there is always something that can be learnt from others when schools share the day to day practice within them.
I have already learnt in my short time working with the team here that just like St Paul’s, Holy Trinity is a close community and I already feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to be part of it.
If you have any questions, please contact me by email or by coming find me on the gate.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Emily Evans
Executive Headteacher
