Friday 29th November 2024

Dear Parents and Carers                ,

We are really looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow at our wonderful Christmas Fair. Our incredible PTA team has been working so hard to organise this event and really get everyone into the Christmas spirit! Alongside a visit from Father Christmas there will be so many things to enjoy such as; games, tombolas, the silent auction with fabulous things up for grabs, the market stalls for Christmas presents, our JLT stall, musical performances from the choir, a BBQ, cake stall, mulled wine and our international food stall. Thank you so very much to everyone for supporting our school through this wonderful community event and fantastic fundraiser for your children.

Trips, visits and events

Forest School for Fallow Class

Fallow class had a great morning at Forest School on Monday. Some highlights were the ropes, the mud kitchen and enjoying s’mores around the fire! They also practiced lighting their own fires using cotton wool, flint and steel.

Cross Country

On Friday, 12 children from years 5/6 represented  the school in the Richmond Borough Cross Country event at Bushy Park. There were nearly 200 children racing in both the boys and girls races.  All our runners competed with great enthusiasm and were true ambassadors of the school. Well done our HT ! runners

Park Run Successes

Well done to Oli and Jonathan who completed the park run at Moormead Park over the weekend. Keep up the good work!

Message from Mrs Evans

We have had a great week here at Holy Trinity. I have enjoyed spending some time in the classrooms and listening to all of the wonderful singing in preparation for the various Christmas celebrations in the coming weeks.

Today in worship, we lit the first advent candle representing ‘Hope’. Members of the JLT once again helped me to lead worship and asked the children to consider what the word ‘Hope’ means. We agreed that it can mean wanting something to happen or even trusting in something happening. One of the JLT shared Isaiah 9v6-7: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” I then shared part of a story with the children called ‘The Christmas Star’. We heard about the angels, Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds and the Kings who all heard the news of this special baby and we asked them to consider why the news brought so much hope to each of them. We closed worship by reflecting on why it is so important in life to have hope, even in the most challenging times, and then listened to ‘Mary Did You Know?’ which shares this message of hope too.

I am looking forward to welcoming Andy George back to Holy Trinity next week following his appointment as Headteacher. I will be spending time sharing so many of the wonderful things about our school community with him and I know that he is very much looking forward to meeting many of you at the gate at the start or end of the day.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the Christmas Fair!

Notices and requests

Winter Illnesses

Whilst we want to encourage families to be sending their child into school daily, we are asking that if your child is presenting with flu like symptoms, such as a constant cough or raised temperature, that you consider this carefully in order to reduce the spread of these illnesses within the school community.

Calling all Runners!

If your child currently runs any of the  park runs  at the weekends please could you send their times and the events they participated in  to Mr Callaghan (lcallaghan@htprimary.com), we would like to celebrate any personal best times and milestones reached! We would also like to encourage more children to start running and feel that the park Run 2K event will be a good way to help our children develop their running skills and build our community spirit. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at how we can continue to build on our great relationship with Real Runners.

If you would like to sign up for the park runs, please do consider signing up as an HT Run Club member!
