Dear Parents and Carers ,
I always feel so lucky to be part of a primary school community at this time of year. The school has been full of carols and songs about Christmas and the children’s voices are always such a joy to hear. This week we have shared our KS1 and EYFS nativities with both the school and then with our parents and families. The children made us feel so proud with their confidence, clear lines, beautiful singing and dancing and their twists on some of the roles they were playing – King Herrod you were fabulous! I am sure you will join me in thanking all the staff teams for all the time and encouragement they have given to enable our children to shine. Next week our juniors are singing and leading us in our Carols by Candlelight service at Holy Trinity church which we are hugely looking forward to.
Trips, visits and events |
Butterflies had a great time at Forest School!
On Monday, Butterfly class enjoyed a morning of forest school. They made clay animals and tree monsters, played in the mud kitchen and enjoyed some rope balancing and a tug of war. They even found time to practise their nativity dances on the outdoor stage.
Scholastic Book Fair
Thank you for all your support at our book fair, we raised £280 for the school! Hope you have bought some great new texts – Happy reading!
The sporting events contine!
This week has been another busy sporting week! On Thursday we played 2 girls football matches against Marshgate, drawing 2-2 in the league match and narrowly losing 1-0 in the friendly. On Thursday our year 3/4 Basketball team competed in the Richmond Knights Borough Competition, results improved as the children got used to playing in a competition. In all our fixtures this week the children have shown great resilience and have been fantastic ambassadors for our school and community.
Message from Mrs Evans |
This week has been an absolute treat! The nativities performed by KS1 and our early Years were just wonderful. It was lovely to see so many parents and carers here on Wednesday and I heard that there was a lovely atmosphere at the EYFS nativity yesterday. Thank you for supporting the children – they did such a wonderful job! This morning I spent some more time with Mr George and was delighted that he got to join us for worship. We focused on the third (pink) advent candle which represents joy. We began by reflecting on the message in Philippians 4:4-5: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near.” We considered what the word ‘joy’ means and I read the children another part of our book ‘The Christmas Star’. We talked about the joy that the news of Jesus’s birth brought to those who were told of it and then took some time to reflect on what brings us joy at school. We created this word art to display in our classrooms.
I can’t believe that next week will be my last one with the Holy Trinity community. I hope that I will have a chance to say thank you and goodbye to many of you in person over the coming week. I wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our staff, parents, governors and pupils for how you have welcomed and supported me during my two terms here. It has been such a special opportunity and I will forever look back on my time with you fondly. The best way to sum this up is with a quote from one of my favourite musicals (a very POPULAR one currently) “…because I knew you, I have been changed for good.” Thank you.

Calling all Runners!
If your child currently runs any of the park runs at the weekends please could you send their times and the events they participated in to Mr Callaghan (lcallaghan@htprimary.com), we would like to celebrate any personal best times and milestones reached! We would also like to encourage more children to start running and feel that the park Run 2K event will be a good way to help our children develop their running skills and build our community spirit. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at how we can continue to build on our great relationship with Real Runners.
If you would like to sign up for the park runs, please do consider signing up as an HT Run Club member!
