Dear Parents and Carers,
What a lovely turn in the weather there has been this week. I have been lucky enough to be working outside with our Reception and Nursery children during the week, as well as actively refereeing football on Wednesday lunchtime!
Sue from Holy Trinity led us in a lovely Collective Worship on surprises, looking at all of the surprises that the bible tells us about around Easter.
I’m pleased to say that we have had our draft OFSTED report to go through this week, and expect the final version to be with us within the next few weeks.
Wishing you all an enjoyable and restful bank holiday weekend.
Best wishes,
Mr George

Trips, visits and events |
Swans and Herons visit the Hindu Temple
Year 3 had a fabulous visit to the Hindu Temple in Wimbledon. They learnt so much about the different deities, how and why Hindu people do certain things and even got to try different outfits. We were so proud of how respectful and kind the students were. The way they conducted themselves was outstanding. To celebrate just how amazing they are, we then spent a bit of time playing in a local park – what fun!
Bumblebees and Dragonflies had a fabulous time at the Tower of London
Year 2 had an unforgettable trip to the Tower of London as part of their learning about The Great Fire of London. Travelling by train, the children took part in the engaging and interactive ‘Fire, Fire!’ workshop, which brought their history topic to life in a meaningful and exciting way. They had the opportunity to explore the White Tower, and marvel at the magnificent Crown Jewels, along with many other fascinating historical artefacts. The pupils’ behaviour was exemplary throughout the day, showcasing all of the Holy Trinity School values. It was a pleasure to see their curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm in action as they questioned Beefeaters, explored the site, and immersed themselves in this rich historical experience.
Sports News
Well done to Elias for completing his first Parkrun!
This week, we’ve been celebrating the London Marathon. In PE, the children have been taking part in a variety of running games, and we even held our own mini marathon challenge between classes.
We also launched our new initiative that allows children to log how active they’ve been both in and out of school, using the MiMove app.
Notices and requests |
Playground Equipment
A kind reminder that children (including pre-school age) should not play on the playground equipment before or after school. We are not able to supervise them, and the equipment is too high for smaller people. Please help us by not allowing your children to use the equipment before or after school. Mr George
Summer uniform
As fine weather has finally arrived please note that our summer uniform is as follows; dark grey shorts with white or grey socks. A blue and white striped or checked dress with white socks. Long sleeved white shirts should not be worn under the dress. Sensible black shoes (not sandals).

Safeguarding |
This week, we’d like to remind you about staying safe online. Although we have a very effective filter system in school, home devices will not be protected by this. We recommend you install filters and adult controls on all devices used by your children.
For further advice, please have a look at the NSPCC site on Online Safeguarding.
Emotion Coaching |
We are delighted to be able to offer some training through our Attached Aware schools project on an introduction to Emotion Coaching. This training will be led by our Educational Psychologist and is designed to provide you with insights into why children (and all of us) experience emotions, and the different parts of the brain that control our responses to stress and emotions. You’ll learn how to use this knowledge to respond to children in a way that helps them to better understand and manage their feelings. Specifically, the training will cover:
Understanding the theory behind Emotion Coaching
Why Emotion Coaching is a useful approach
The four steps of Emotion Coaching
How to create scripts that you can use in your everyday interactions with children
By the end of the training, you will feel more confident in your ability to support children’s emotional needs and help them to develop emotional resilience.
The session will be 45 minutes to an hour and can be virtual or in person at school. Please complete the google form if you would be interested. Thank you, Miss Ashby
