Friday 16th May 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
The weather seems to have settled into warm and sunny for much of the time. This allows us to see the full beauty of our community, with the nearby parks and river giving us a chance to find peace and tranquillity in busy times. Eils Osgood came in for our Collective Worship this week and spoke about our journeys in life and what the final part of the school year holds in place for us. Eils was definitely drawing on Star Trek with her phrase ‘to boldly go where no one has gone before’! Well done to all of our wonderful Year 6 children, who have successfully completed their KS2 SATs tests this week. And of course, a big thank you to our staff – not just the Year 6 team, but the staff from across the school who help at this busy time in supporting our year 6 community. Have a super weekend, everyone.
Best wishes,
Mr George

Safeguarding |
Social Media
We are responding to an increasing number of incidents that are occurring online. Whilst there are many benefits to pupils having access to the online world, it comes with many risks, especially if their use is unsupervised. Studies have found that excessive use of social media increases a young person’s susceptibility to depression, anxiety, poor body image and self-worth. It can also impact a child’s sleep routine, which in turn can affect their ability to concentrate and thrive in school.
Age Restrictions of Social Media Apps
Please be mindful that social media apps are not appropriate for pupils under the age of 13. Below are the age restrictions for the most popular apps:
WhatsApp—16 years +
Instagram—13 years +
Facebook—13 years +
Snapchat—13 years +
TikTok—13 Years +
If you have any queries regarding social media apps, or would like support with this, then do contact the school.
