Newsletter 6th June 2025

Friday 6th June 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable half-term break – which now seems a long way away after our first week back. The last half of the summer term is one of fun activities, reflections on the school year and starting to look towards the new year. In today’s collective worship, we explored the theme of community, one of our values, and the story told was about a mischievous boy from about 50 years ago who learned to value their community and neighbours more – do ask your children to expand!  Have a great weekend.

Best wishes,

Mr George

Trips, visits and events

On Wednesday, 10 children from Years 5 and 6 proudly represented HT at the Borough Sports held at St Mary’s University. The athletes competed in a range of events including the 600 metres, 70 metre sprint, vortex throw, standing long jump, and team relays.

While we await the final overall placings, we are incredibly proud of the effort, determination, resilience, and teamwork displayed by every one of our pupils throughout the day. Well done Team HT!

Please keep logging your activities on mimove, we are always happy to hear about your achievements.

During the singing assembly this week we were given a wonderful demo from a violin teacher from Richmond Music Trust. We are excited to announce that from this September 2025 violin lessons will be offered in school for children from Year 3-6.  If your child would be interested in receiving violin lessons, please see the flyer which has been sent out via ParentMail.

Safeguarding

Richmond council and AfC have teamed up with the NSPCC to roll out their Talk PANTS London campaign. Talk PANTS promotes simple conversations with young children to keep children safe from harm. Developed with children, parents, carers and teachers, Talk PANTS introduces child safety messages with the help of PANTosaurus, who helps children understand that their body belongs to them, and they should tell a safe adult they trust if anything makes them feel upset or worried.

The  PANTS rule:

Privates are private

Always remember your body belongs to you

No means no

Talk about secrets that upset you

Speak up, someone can help

A series of free Talk PANTS Information Sessions are taking place during June and July. The sessions will cover:

  • The aim of the Talk PANTS campaign
  • Overview of Talk PANTS resources for early years aged 3-5
  • Overview of Talk PANTS resources for children aged 5-11s
  • Overview of Talk PANTS resources for children with additional learning needs such as Makaton, SEND and/or autism
