Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, Sue led our Collective Worship with a focus on kindness, a core part of our school vision. The New Testament teaches us to “Love one another” (John 13:34), and kindness is exactly how we show that love in action, just as it shows us how to “Love God” who first loved us. Kindness means being friendly, helpful, and caring towards everyone—in our classrooms, on the playground, and at home. As the Bible says, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32). When we share, offer a helping hand, use gentle words, and forgive, we are embodying the love Jesus taught. By practicing kindness, we make our school a happier place where everyone can “Love learning” and feel cherished. Let’s look for ways to be kind to someone new every day!
We are so pleased with the number of children who ride scooters and bikes to school each day. As a reminder to be kind to everyone on the school site, please ensure you push your scooter or bike on the school grounds – it’s not kind or safe for others to be riding them before or after school on the site – all riding should be outside the school gates.

Kingfishers enjoy the sunshine in Forest school
Kingfisher class enjoyed an autumnal themed feel to their Forest School session on Monday.
There was lots of fun, teamwork and discovery as the children enjoyed games, autumnal treasure hunts, creating tree sprites and building dens. The children were even lucky enough to spot frogs before they hibernate for the winter!
Year 4 visited Kew Gardens
Owls and Woodpeckers had a fabulous day out at Kew on Tuesday. They experienced the Treetop walk, learnt how to survive overnight in the rainforest in the Palm House, learnt about different temperate plants and loved sketching them in the Princess of Wales Conservatory and had lots of fun with their friends in the adventure playground. They behaved impeccably and we really had such a wonderful and interesting day. Thank you to all the volunteers who accompanied us and made this trip possible.

Meet Your New Junior Leadership Team (JLT)!
We are thrilled to announce the members of this year’s Junior Leadership Team (JLT)! We opened the application process to all students in Years 3 through 6, and the response was overwhelming – the standard was incredibly high. Students had to tackle four challenging questions: why they wanted to join, what skills they would contribute, what makes our school unique, and how they embody our values of Love, Aspiration, and Community. After much deliberation, class teachers made their final selections. A huge congratulations to our new JLT representatives:

This year, the JLT will work closely with Mr. Auton to be the voice for all pupils, help run school events, and support our School Development Plan goals. Their main focus will be improving the quality of our outside areas during break and lunchtimes. We look forward to a successful year!
Announcing Our Co-Head Pupils!
The Junior Leadership Team (JLT) is taking on a much more prominent role this year! To fill this enhanced position, we invited our Year 5 and 6 representatives to apply for the role of Head Pupil. Seven exceptional children stepped forward, each delivering a thoughtful speech to Mr. Auton and Mr. George. The quality of their ideas and the dedication they showed to this task were truly outstanding, and we were immensely proud of them all.
The decision was incredibly difficult, but we are delighted to announce our new co-Head Pupils: Juliao and Jessica! Their inspiring love for our school and genuine desire to make it even better were truly moving. We recognise the strong leadership qualities displayed by the remaining candidates: Bella, Beth, Apollo, Abigail, and Maddie. To utilise their talents, they will be organised into two teams. These teams will lead the organisation of the JLT stalls for both the Christmas and Summer Fairs and will also be responsible for leading some of our worship assemblies throughout the year.

Match report HT v St Mary’s – 1st football borough league match
Kick Off…
We all ran out onto the field as soon as the clock struck 3:20, ready for anything, especially the match against St. Marys. After the warm-up, our coach (Mr Callaghan) told us our tactics and our starting line-ups:
Tom as the keeper, Ethan and Flynn at the back, Anthony in the defensive midfield, Ajai and Oliver hugging the sidelines and finally, Oli as our striker.. That left Juliao, Can and Apollo on the bench.
Happy Birthday, Apollo!
Tuesday 15th was Apollo’s birthday, and his birthday present for the team was a hat trick! The year five scored three well placed and powerful shots into the corners.
Tom’s Triple save
Tom, in my opinion the best goalkeeper in the school and probably in the borough, saved 3 shots in a row. The first shot was an excellent one in the bottom right corner, but he got a strong hand on the ball. The rebound went in the opposite direction, but somehow, the same hand brushed it away to a third and clever chip, only to find the ball once again in the hands of Tom. In addition to our legendary defending, Oli managed to perform an impressive goalline save.
The Goals
Oli gave us the lead early on with a great poachers goal. All three of Apollo’s goals were very intelligently placed where the keeper couldn’t reach: the corners. Anthony attempted a long shot, but sadly, that just missed the crossbar. No need for despair, he did make up for it as he scored one header and a volley that went in the top middle and assisted another goal. Then Juliao scored a wonderful volley that went right through the legs of their keeper, assisted by our own keeper. Then Flynn scored the most amazing but accidental goal.

Oli got fouled in our half; this means that Flynn would take the free kick. Juilao and Anthony were ready for the header inside the box, but when Flynn crossed to them, the ball flew over their heads and ended up in the top right corner!
We finished the game winning 8- 4. Player of the match: Apollo

Our PTA raised money for our Trim Trail, Forest School, library and various trips during 2024/25. This year, we’re looking to focus on further updating our outside area – watch this space for more details!

Keeping Safe Near the Level Crossing
The safety and well-being of every child is our highest priority (our safeguarding commitment). Our school’s location near the railway level crossing means we must all be extra vigilant about safety, especially during busy drop-off and collection times.
We urge all parents and carers to make sure your children understand the extreme danger of the railway. Never use the level crossing barriers, gates, or paths as a shortcut. Always use the proper pedestrian route and emphasize to your children that they must stop, look, and listen before approaching the crossing, even when the barriers are up.
For children walking independently, please ensure they never stop or play near the tracks and always wait behind the designated white lines. Safe use of this crossing is a vital part of our collective responsibility to keep all our young people safe. Thank you for setting a strong, safe example.

Turkish Republic Day – Orleans Gardens, Twickenham Sunday 19th October
Turkish Republic Day celebrations is organised by Bind The Gap (charity number: 1210208 in the UK), TEGV and Give From Heart, a local volunteering group to support the education of children in unprivileged areas of Turkiye.
At the event, there will be fun filled activities for kids including children’s choir, art and craft activities, face painting, games and races, Turkish folk dance, live music, backgammon tournament, delicious Turkish food, mezes and barbecue.
The event will take place at Orleans Gardens, Twickenham between 12:00-17:00 on 19/10/2025.
We aim to bring our local community together for this important cause and would be delighted to welcome you.
Mayor’s annual Christmas Card Competition
25/26 – Holy Trinity October Half Term
Brentford FC Community Sports Trust are excited to say we will be running another multi-sports camp at Holy Trinity School during October half term.
During each day participants will take part in 4/5 different sports and team events, along with time for snacks, socialising and making new friends.
