Dear Parents and Carers,
In our second week of Advent, we have looked at the second Advent candle- “The Bethlehem Candle” Like the first candle, it is also purple and represents Peace. We talked about Peace in our collective worship, and thought about how the peace from Christmas 2025 years ago might be seen today. We are reminded of the quotation from Luke 2:14: “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests!”
I am writing this just after our wonderful nativity production in KS1 and Early Years. In a show worthy of the Royal Albert Hall or the West End, the children danced, sang and acted. We had delightful interpretations of the Christmas story. As well as our wonderful children, a big thank you to the Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 staff teams, and assorted staff from across the school, for pulling together for such an enjoyable time.
I hope you have a peaceful and enjoyable weekend.
Best wishes,
Mr George

Year 2 Forest School
The children demonstrated amazing teamwork and independence as they embraced the outdoor environment. They crafted eco-friendly bird feeders using pinecones and Cheerios to help our feathered friends; curiously observed pondlife looking out for frog spawns; showed fantastic creativity in the mud kitchen and enjoyed rope activities. A brilliant day of outdoor learning.
Year 6 Trip to MathsWorld (a short report by Ellie Poon Year 6)

On Friday 5th December, Year 6 went on a very exciting trip to MathsWorld. There was a wide variety of different activities such as: password cracking, making the Leonardo dome, puzzles ad much more! Year 6 had a lot of fun and would definitely recommend it to anyone else.
Choir Trip

Our KS2 Choir gave a fantastic performance at Holy Trinity Church this
week for their Christmas lunchtime service to the senior citizens. They all
sang with such confidence and enthusiasm and we were especially proud
of them.

HT Cycle to Paris June 2026

On the 26th and 27th of June, a group of parents and teachers will be riding from London to Paris. This is a charity ride, with the money raised going to Skylarks and to the school. We
will need to know how many riders we have by February. The last ride in 2024 was really
successful and a lot of fun. Please let Mr. Thomson know if you are interested. He will
provide more information. Cycling information

| Celebrations! |
This week, there wasn’t a celebration assembly as our nativity celebrations were in full swing…
EYFS Nativity

On Thursday the Nursery and Reception class performed the
Nativity together. Reception children took on the speaking roles and
the Nursery children supported them with the songs. Afterwards,
the Nursery parents came back to Rainbow class to see the children
perform the songs we have been learning this term. A fantastic
morning celebrating the children’s amazing achievements!
KS1 Nativity

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Year 1 and 2 put on an amazing performance
for the school and parents. The children had been practicing their lines,
songs, and dances for many weeks. The parents, teachers, and children
were all very proud of the whole performance. A big thank you to everyone
who helped, both at school and at home, to make the performance look as
great as it did!
