Dear Parents and Carers, 

This week we welcomed Eils to our Monday collective worship, where we explored our value of ‘Love’ This  theme was continued throughout the week so that we could explore all aspects. We finished this on Friday in my  collective worship, where we discussed Maya Angelou’s thought: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said,  people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”. With God’s love, we will work  to ensure that we make each other feel as we would wish to. As Romans 12.10 tells us, “Be devoted to one another in  love. Honour one another above yourselves.”

Trips, visits and events

Year 6 PSHE 

In Year 6, students have been thinking about those less fortunate than them and have set up little businesses  to raise money for charity. Between now and the end of the year, they will be taking part in different activities from  sponsored activities to bake sales etc. Next Friday (13th), Can and Ethan from Fallow class are going to be raising  money for their chosen charity (Share and Care Collective) through a bake sale which will take place in the playground  (round the back of Swan class). If you have any cakes or donations then please drop them in to Fallow Class on the  morning of Friday 13th. It will be cash only. Please do support them if you can.  

Year 1 Trip to Holly Lodge 

Our Year 1 pupils swapped the classroom for the great outdoors this week as they embarked on an exciting trip to  Holly Lodge in Richmond Park. The children took part in a guided nature trail, stepping into the role of mini-scientists  to explore our current Science topic on Plants. Throughout the day, the children sharpened their observation skills by: – Identifying Native Flora: Learning to recognise different trees and wild plants in their  

natural environment. 

– Exploring Habitats: Investigating the diverse “hotels” and homes that Richmond Park  

provides for various living things. 

– Science in Action: Identifying the basic parts of plants and discussing what they need to  grow and stay healthy. 

It was a wonderful day filled with fresh air, discovery, and plenty of “wow” moments. A huge  well done to our young explorers for their curiosity and excellent behaviour!

Year 5&6 Tag Rugby Tournament 

Due to a change of venue, we hosted the tag rugby matches at our  

school, playing against four different teams. The children worked brilliantly as a  

team, making lots of effective rips and showing great teamwork throughout.  

They scored some fantastic tries and represented the school with enthusiasm  

and sportsmanship. 

Girls Football Match 

A fantastic team performance in our last girls league fixture, winning 4-1  

against Kew Riverside on a wet Thursday afternoon. A big shout out to our  

captain and player of the match Tabby for scoring a hattrick (after an afternoon  

of tag rugby matches at the tournament too!).  

Notices and Requests

Share and Care Collective 

All around the country, there are people who sometimes need a little bit of extra help  

buying food and toiletries for their family. Share & Care Collective is a small local charity that helps  local families with weekly supplies of food and toiletries during term time. They collect donations  from across the community and work in partnership with local primary schools to distribute our  

support bags. We have agreed to host a collection box for this charity. If you would like to donate, please take your  items to Mrs Prendergast and Mrs Bell in the office. Thank you to those who are already donating.  

Nursery applications 

If your child was born between 01/09/2022 and 31/08/2023 and you are interested in them joining our wonderful  nursery next September, please email lprendergast@htprimary.com for an application form, or download one from  our website. We have a nursery tour at 9.15am on Tuesday 10th and Thursday 26th February; please contact the  office if you would like to book a space on either of these dates. Please also spread the word amongst your friends  and family who may be interested. You can find more information on our
