Dear Parents and Carers,
Eils joined us this week to explore and reflect on our school vision of Love learning, Love one another, Love God. As the week has gone on, we have reached the Lunar New Year, and have reflected on how this ‘new start’ for many people across the world is an important time for all of us. In the Bible, God often speaks about making things new. In Lamentations 3:22-23, it says: “The Lord’s symbols of love never end. His mercies never stop. They are new every morning.” Just like the Lunar New Year is a “fresh start” for many people, God offers us a fresh start every single day. We don’t have to carry around our mistakes from yesterday; we can begin again with kindness and love, and we looked at this with the children in today’s collective worship. We encouraged them, and you, to think of something from last year you want to “sweep away” (maybe a time you weren’t kind or a worry you’ve been carrying), and also something “new” you want to bring into the world this year (a new friendship, a new skill, or more helpfulness).
We wish you every health and happiness for the half-term break.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Best wishes,
Mr George

Year 3 Roman Battle
Year 3 spent an afternoon as Roman Legionaries on Thursday this week. Having made shields (scutums) to a classic design, they practised drilling with a very stern centurion, Dominus George, who taught them how to turn to face, form shield wall and the wonderful ‘tortoise’ (testudo) formation. Plenty of marching ensued, with two Aquilas (eagles) being carried to represent each class’s honour. We then spent more time learning about the different types of soldiers in Roman armies, before the rain came down to finish the afternoon!
Year 1 and 4 Reading Experience

Our Year 1 pupils enjoyed a truly aspirational morning visiting Year 4 to hear
their outstanding English writing. It was wonderful to see our younger learners so
inspired by the sophisticated work of their older peers. Motivated by this high
standard, Year 1 followed the session with some excellent phonics reading,
demonstrating fantastic progress and a real love for literacy.
Girl’s Football Report written by Dolly and Isabelle (Year 6)
On the 5th of January 2026, Holy Trinity had a football match against Kew Riverside. This match was home meaning it was held at our school. We had a lot of fabulous players including Dolly, Isabelle, Izzy, Megan, Tabby and Ichika from Year 6 and Izzy, Beth and Belle from Year 5. The score ended up being 4-1 to us. 3 of those goals were scored by the amazing Tabby in Year 6 and the other goal for our school was an own goal, meaning that the other school accidentally scored in their own goal. We are so grateful for our great goalie, Beth, who saved some brilliant goals. A glorious goal from Belle, but our referee did not accept it as he didn’t see it.
Lunar New Year

Thanks to our fabulous kitchen staff who cooked up a feast for our students
and staff today. We know how important it is to celebrate festivals from all the
cultures across out community. The splash of red really brought our school to life too.

House Point Winners: Attenborough House!
We are thrilled to share some exciting news regarding our House Point competition!
Throughout the Spring term, children across the school have been working incredibly hard to earn Team Points for their respective Houses. While we announce a weekly winner during our Thursday Celebration Worship, we have also been keeping a secret running total since January.
We are delighted to announce that Attenborough House has earned the highest average number of points this term!
Reward Day: Friday 27th February
To celebrate this fantastic achievement, all members of Attenborough House are invited to wear their own clothes to school on Friday 27th February.
To show their House pride, please ensure:
- House Colour: The Attenborough House colour must be a prominent part of their outfit (e.g., a t-shirt, jumper, or trousers).
- PE Lessons: If your child has PE on Friday, they may still wear their own clothes, but please ensure the outfit is suitable for sporting activities and safe movement.
Important Note for Other Houses
Children who are members of all other House Teams should attend school in their normal school uniform as usual. We are very proud of the effort and sportsmanship shown by all our pupils this term. Well done to Rashford House for clinching the top spot!
Nut-Free School
Should you provide a daily packed lunch may we remind you that Holy Trinity is, for the safety of some of our children, strictly a nut free school. As we have gained Healthy School status, we must insist that pack-lunches are well balanced and no crisps, chocolate, sweets, nuts or fizzy drinks are permitted in packed lunches. Please remember that the school is “nut free”, as we have a number of pupils with nut allergies, so please don’t include anything that has nuts in the ingredients. This includes pesto which we often forget has pine nuts in!
Share and Care Collective

All around the country, there are people who sometimes need a little bit of extra help
buying food and toiletries for their family. Share & Care Collective is a small local charity that helps local families with weekly supplies of food and toiletries during term time. They collect donations from across the community and work in partnership with local primary schools to distribute our
support bags. We have agreed to host a collection box for this charity. If you would like to donate, please take your items to Mrs Prendergast and Mrs Bell in the office. Thank you to those who are already donating.
| Safeguarding |
Mr George, Miss Brunt, Mrs Allard and Mrs Bell can be contacted at the school using their emails (which are on the school website), or you can use our new safeguarding email, which is: safeguarding@htprimary.com . Our Safeguarding Governors are Francis Neal and Helen Taylor, and they can be contacted via email using the links on the school website, linked here.
