Dear Parents and Carers,
We welcomed Eils to our collective worship on Monday where she launched the week getting us to think about BIG questions – perhaps even difficult ones. She shared a story about how Nicodemus had to ask difficult questions when he didn’t understand what Jesus said. Eils shared how brave this was and got us to question whether we ask questions and share when we don’t understand (perhaps something in a learning). Learning is such a key skill for all of us; we don’t always get everything right the first time, but by being a learning environment, we help each other to aspire upwards!
Do have a wonderful weekend.
Best wishes,
Mr George

International Day
We are excited to be celebrating International Day on Friday, 1st May and we would love for all the children to take part in this special event!
To celebrate the wonderful diversity within our school community, children are encouraged to come to school dressed in their traditional clothing (no football kits please), proudly representing the richness of their culture and heritage.
In the afternoon, we would also like to invite parent volunteers to visit their child’s class and share something about their culture. This could include:
- talking to the children about traditions and customs,
- reading a story,
- or leading a short craft activity.
This is always a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn about and appreciate the many cultures that make our community so special.
If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch with your child’s class teacher to arrange a suitable time. We look forward to a joyful day of learning and celebration!
David Attenborough’s Birthday
We are thrilled to share some very special news with you. On Friday 8th May, the world-renowned naturalist Sir David Attenborough celebrates his 100th birthday!
Sir David has spent his incredible life showing us the beauty of our planet and, most importantly, teaching us how to protect it. He has been a powerful voice in raising awareness about climate change, the importance of biodiversity, and our responsibility to care for the wonderful creatures we share the Earth with. To honour his life’s work and inspire our own young conservationists, we are inviting all children to take part in a special creative challenge. We would love for the children to submit one of the following:
- A Wildlife Photograph: Capture a “David Attenborough moment” in your garden, a local park, or even a tiny insect on your windowsill!
- A Nature Portrait: A drawing, painting, or sketch of a favourite animal or a portrait of Sir David himself in his element.
- Please submit all entries to Ms Ahmed by Wednesday, 6th May. Our Eco team will be choosing the winners.
Staffing Update
Miss Jobbins will be relocating at the end of this academic year. We are thrilled for her that she has been offered a new job – their gain is our loss. She has been a huge part of our community teaching in Year 2, Year 1, leading KS1 and English over her time here at Holy Trinity. Please join us in wishing her all the best at her new school in Rickmansworth where she embarks on a new chapter with her fiancé.
Prayer Breakfast
We would like to invite you to our next prayer breakfast on Thursday 7th May at 8am in Woodpecker Class, to pray for our school. We will provide coffee and pastries! This is for any adult member of our community who would like to pray for our school.
Volunteering
It is such a joy being able to take your children on school trips and enhances their educational opportunities. In order to do this though, we often need parent support and volunteers. In these cases, it is best practice for all our volunteers to be DBS checked. If you are likely to volunteer then please do go to Mrs Prendergast in the office who will be able to discuss the next steps in getting this sorted for you. DBS checks do not have an official expiry date and are considered valid for three years so it will last for a while whilst your children attend this school.
Share and Care Collective
All around the country, there are people who sometimes need a little bit of extra help
buying food and toiletries for their family. Share & Care Collective is a small local charity that helps local families with weekly supplies of food and toiletries during term time. They collect donations from across the community and work in partnership with local primary schools to distribute our
support bags. We have agreed to host a collection box for this charity. If you would like to donate, please take your items to Mrs Prendergast and Mrs Bell in the office. Thank you to those who are already donating.
Teachers Cycle to Paris!
This year, three of our teachers will be joining the team cycling 300km to Paris in the summer! We hope you can support Miss Bannenberg’s, Mr Hambling’s and Mr Thomson’s efforts in any way you can, directly funding resources for Holy Trinity School and Skylarks Charity, who support children in our community and across Richmond with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, with much-needed free services.
