Dear Parents and Carers ,
We started our week reflecting on the meaning of Armistice Day and the importance of remembrance. We were extremely lucky to have Alison Jackson, a member of our community, who played the Last Post on the trumpet for us. The children were very respectful and it made our assembly very special.
Trips, visits and events |
Year 3 visit to the Wetlands
Swans and Herons had a fabulous time on our Geography trip to Wetlands. They took part in a workshop all about the water cycle. We also enjoyed using water in the Explore Centre, some giggles in the playground and learnt so much about otters. We even spoke to the otter feeder who told us one of them can juggle with stones and ice cubes when the weather is hot – how exciting!
Our girls football team spent the day at a tournament on Wednesday
On Wednesday our year 5 and 6 girls competed in the annual Borough girls football tournament. The girls played 8 games in total and won 2, drew 3 and lost 3 but two of these defeats were only by one goal! As the tournament progressed the girls became more confident and competitive, we were so proud of them. The girls all represented the school with a positive attitude and really worked well as a team. Congratulations to the whole team on your achievements, perseverance, resilience and teamwork!
Message from Mrs Evans |
We have had another busy week here at Holy Trinity which has included more tours for prospective reception parents – it has been such a pleasure to show families around our wonderful school! On Tuesday, I had my first working lunch with some of the JLT who have begun to plan Friday worship. We began with Matthew 23:11 – “Whoever is the greatest should be the servant of the others”. We explored what leaders do, what makes a good leader, considered Jesus as a leader and how his example was to serve and then brought it back to ourselves and how we can lead from within our community and serve one another. The JLT introduced their new jar which holds the names of all pupils and staff and they used this today to draw ideas from a variety of members of our school. We closed with prayers and sang ‘My Lighthouse’. It was brilliant to watch our pupils take the lead and I am already looking forward to my next meeting with them on Tuesday to plan for next week. It was also lovely today seeing the children wearing their own clothes and it was great to see the generous donations coming in on the gate ready for the fair in a few weeks – thank you!
Notices and requests |
Christmas Fair: Lucky Dip Stall
The Junior Leadership Team will be running the lucky dip stall at the Christmas Fair once again this year to help raise funds for our school. They are looking for donations of any small toys that are in a good condition. Please leave them at the school office or take them directly to Mr Auton in Woodpecker Class. We will be very grateful for any donations received.
Thank you in advance from Mr Auton and the Junior Leadership Team.
Calling all Runners!
If your child currently runs any of the park runs at the weekends please could you send their times and the events they participated in to Mr Callaghan ( lcallaghan@htprimary.com), we would like to celebrate any personal best times and milestones reached! We would also like to encourage more children to start running and feel that the park Run 2K event will be a good way to help our children develop their running skills and build our community spirit. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at how we can continue to build on our great relationship with Real Runners.
If you would like to sign up for the park runs, please do consider signing up as an HT Run Club member!

Road Safety Week 18-22nd November
We’re taking part in Road Safety Week to learn about road safety and celebrate the road safety heroes who make roads safer. Everyone can be a road safety hero! There are plenty of ways you and your children can get involved. There will be an assembly, led by our ECO team and children will have access to supporting materials at school. If you are, or have been in a road safety role and would like to get involved, please let us know! Posters are going up around school.

Community events and initiatives |
I am messaging on behalf of your local Chestertons branch, here in East Sheen. We are helping the charity Calling London with their winter coat drive and would appreciate your support.
Every year, Calling London collects winter coats and jackets and then distributes them to over 30 charitable organisations – helping the homeless, victims of domestic abuse, those living in poverty, the elderly, refugees and children. We’ve been collecting coats on behalf of Calling London since 2013 and now more than ever they need our help.
Between 21st October – 23rd November all of the Chestertons London branches become donation points for the public to drop off their unwanted coats and jackets. We need winter coats and jackets in both adults and children’s sizes, every single donation makes a real difference to someone’s life.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Best wishes, Miss Ashby. Instagram: @HolyTrinityschrichmond
