Friday 4th July 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a changeable week we have had with the weather. From scorching on Monday and Tuesday to cooler and damp on Wednesday, and somewhere in between for the rest of the week. Let’s pray for good weather for the annual School Fair tomorrow. Our collective worship this week, with Matt from Holy Trinity church, looked at what we treasure, particularly those things that money cannot buy!
Have a lovely weekend, and I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow at the Fair.
Best wishes,
Mr George

Trips, visits and events |
International Day
We had a wonderful day last Friday celebrating our diverse and rich community that we are so proud to be a part of. Year 4 started off the day with a fabulous assembly that reflected all of the different languages spoken at HT, celebrated with songs and shared delicious local dishes with our volunteer taste tester, Mr Collett! The children took part in international quizzes and activities, wore national colours and dress and took part in a whole school parade and picnic at the end of the day. Thank you to so many of you for joining us, I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. What a warm and special community we have here at HT!
Prayer Space
The children really enjoyed their time reflecting and wondering in Prayer Space last week. Some of the themes included Hope blossoms, love and shaping our learning. We always have so much wonderful feedback from the children; a huge thank you to HT church and all the volunteers who helped to organise and run this event.

2025 Summer Reading Challenge – Adventures in Nature and the Great Outdoors.
The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK’s biggest children’s reading initiative for 4 –11-year-olds and is produced by The Reading Agency and delivered by public libraries. We hope that this year’s theme will inspire children to tap into a world of imagination through reading, exploring the magical connection between storytelling and nature.
From Saturday 5 July 2025 the children can sign up for the challenge at their local Richmond upon Thames library and receive a Story Garden pack. To take part, they need to be a member of the library and have their own library card. For each of six library books they read they can collect a sticker for their pack. Children can update their progress through the challenge at any library in the borough. Everyone who reads six library books is rewarded in the library with a medal and certificate.
Story Garden ends in the borough on Saturday 6 September 2025. More information is available here https://www.richmond.gov.uk/summer_reading_challenge

Regular school attendance – why is it so important?
A good education helps to give children the best possible start in life. Regular attendance is essential to enable students to take part in all the opportunities available and to develop their full potential. All staff at Holy Trinity are committed to working in partnership with our parents/carers who are responsible for ensuring their children access education.
You can help your child attend regularly by:
- Making sure they understand the importance of good attendance and punctuality, why school is important.
- Taking a positive interest in their education – ask about school work and encourage them to get involved in school activities.
- Ensuring everything is ready for school the night before; Set your alarm and your child’s alarm clock – see who can beat the clock!
- Discussing any problems they may have at school – inform their teacher or the office team about anything serious.
- Not letting them take time off school for minor ailments, particularly those which would not prevent you from going to work. Children can attend school if they are taking medicine – speak to the school office. We can give children certain medication with your permission.
- Only granting days at home for genuine illness.
- Arranging appointments and outings after school hours, at weekends or during school holidays; this will help to prevent disruption to your child’s education and the school.
If you are concerned about your child’s school attendance, it is always best to talk to the school first.
