Dear Parents and Carers,
Our values of Love, Aspiration and Community shine through in all that we do here at HT; however, I have no doubt that this weekend our value of Community will really stand out. I am excited to be part of my first PTA Christmas Fair here; the Summer Fair was such a joy to be part of that I am sure tomorrow will be a huge success too. Over the past few weeks, we have shared announcements about donations, through our own clothes day, bringing food for our International Food Stall and much more. We have also seen how much time and energy have already been put into this event by the PTA and their wonderful team. Please do come along tomorrow, spend generously and have a wonderful day – it’s all for a good cause. The festive season is truly about to start.
This week’s collective worship theme has been Advent. We had a marvellous Collective Worship from Eils, where we discussed the true meaning of Advent, and looked at Isaiah 9:2,6-7 – “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine… For a child is born to us, a son is given to us.” I remember reading those words the first time I read in church, aged 9, and the words signify to me that Advent is about to be upon us.
Finally, I’d like to take this chance to welcome Miss Brunt to the role of Acting Deputy Headteacher during Miss Ashby’s maternity leave. Miss Brunt is well-known to most of you as our Assistant Head, and can usually be found at Fallow classroom for much of the day! Miss Brunt’s work with Fallow class will continue as planned going forward, with the able support of Miss Lewis and the AT team.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Best wishes,
Mr George

Roe Forest School
Roe Class braved the chilly weather and had a truly fabulous time during their recent Forest School Day! Held last Monday, the session was packed with hands-on activities. Our young adventurers excelled at building sturdy dens, expressed their creativity by shaping clay into various sculptures, and tested their balance on a challenging tightrope and rappel obstacle course. The perennial favourite, the mud kitchen, was also busy churning out ‘delicious’ treats. The standout moment was undoubtedly learning a vital outdoor skill: fire creation. The children successfully used flint to generate sparks to light a small ball of cotton wool, culminating in the joyous reward of making and eating s’mores with marshmallows toasted over their very own campfire.
