Dear Parents and Carers,

What a lovely way to be welcomed back to this second half of the Spring term with a beautiful new piece of artwork created by Izzy in Year 6. If you haven’t had a chance to pop into the office this week, then do take the chance next week to see Izzy’s work with the kingfisher and rainbow created entirely using her fingers!

This week, we welcomed Sue from Holy Trinity Church. Sue has been coming to the school for our Monday Collective Worship sessions for many years, and this week was her last time taking our worship together. We thanked her for all her hard work, and Mrs Lambert presented her with a lovely kingfisher model and a wonderful orchid for Sue to remember us by. Sue helped us to remember our vision statement from John ch 10 v 10; “I have come so that you might have life –

life in all its fullness.” We were all very proud that so many children could remember this and start to look at how we can flourish spiritually as members of our school community. Have a wonderful weekend,

Best wishes,

Mr George

Trips, visits and events

Year 6 Charity Fundraising

In Year 6, students have been thinking about those less fortunate than themselves and have set up little businesses to raise money for charity. Can and Ethan set the bar high with a fabulous cake sale raising money for our local foodbank charity Share and Care Collective. We look forward to many more fruitful Year 6 fundraisers. They will be taking place on many Fridays across this half term. Head to outside Swan Class to check out what our Year 6 entrepreneurs are up to!

A Royal Adventure: Year 1 Visit Hampton Court Palace!

On Thursday, 26th February, our Year 1 adventurers stepped back in time with a brilliant trip to Hampton Court Palace. It was a spectacular day of discovery that truly brought our learning to life! The children fully immersed themselves in our current History topic, Kings and Queens Throughout History, exploring the grand halls and uncovering stories of the

past. The trip also provided a fantastic real-world link to our Geography studies on Famous Landmarks in the UK, allowing the pupils to see one of the country’s most iconic sites up close. We are incredibly proud of our Year 1 students; their behaviour was exemplary throughout the day, and they represented the school perfectly. It was a wonderful learning experience filled with curiosity and excitement. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this royal visit such a success!

House point challenge winners

The hall was a sea of green today as Attenborough House celebrated their well-deserved House Point Challenge victory! It was wonderful to see the students—and their teachers—sporting their finest green outfits with such pride. A huge well done to everyone for a fantastic team effort last half term!

Young Voices

On Wednesday, our wonderfully talented KS2 choir had

the privilege of performing with over 8000 children at the

Young Voices concert in the O2 Arena. It was a truly

amazing experience for the children, parents and

members of staff – one that we will never forget. A huge

well done to our brilliant children!

Share and Care Collective

All around the country, there are people who sometimes need a little bit of extra help buying food and toiletries for their family. Share & Care Collective is a small local charity that helps local families with weekly supplies of food and toiletries during term time. They collect donations from across the community and work in partnership with local primary schools to distribute our support bags. We have agreed to host a collection box for this charity. If you would like to donate, please take your items to Mrs Prendergast and Mrs Bell in the office. Thank you to those who are already donating.

Safeguarding

Mr George, Miss Brunt, Mrs Allard and Mrs Bell can be contacted at the school using their emails (which are on the school website), or you can use our new safeguarding email, which is: safeguarding@htprimary.com .
