Newsletter 6th March 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a wonderful week, and a great enjoyment for everyone was World Book Day yesterday. Thank you  to everyone who took part; one of our governors referred to Holy Trinity as a ‘joyful place’ yesterday! Eils joined us for Collective Worship on Monday, and shared the parable of the Good Samaritan as part of our work on  ‘spiritual flourishing’. Today I developed this theme with the story of Judas and Mary at the feast (John 12:1-8), where  we explored doing things for the ‘right’ reason, and also learned one of my favourite songs, ‘Judas and Mary by Sydney  Carter’.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Best wishes,

Best wishes,

Mr George

Trips, visits and events

Year 1 Forest School

Year 1 had a spectacular time embracing the sunshine at Forest School this

week! The children turned into mini-engineers as they worked together to

construct sturdy dens and test out their hand-built rope swings.

We also brought our classroom learning into the woods; linking to our History and

Geography topics, the children crushed seasonal berries to create natural dyes for

handmade flags. As part of our whole-school challenge, the children became expert

explorers, hunting for minibeasts in their natural habitats, creating their own out of

clay and showing great respect for the environment. It was a wonderful week of

teamwork, creativity, and fresh air!

Year 3 Safe Walking

This week, Year 3 stepped out of the classroom and onto the pavement to take part in the Richmond Safer  Walking scheme. They have practised walking safely on the pavement, choosing a safe place to cross a road, crossing  with care and using pedestrian crossing points. They returned to school with the practical skills needed to be savvy  pedestrians.

Expect Amazing Charity Visit

We were delighted to welcome the Expect Amazing team to our school on Tuesday,

3rd March to celebrate World Book Day. Through their ‘Gift a Read’ initiative, every child in  the school was presented with a brand-new book of their own to take home and keep. With 1  in 8 children in the UK not owning a book, this initiative is more vital than ever. This wonderful  experience was made possible by the generosity of local partners Elysian Residences and

McAleer & Rushe. Special thanks to Ed Blake and Shea Gregory for joining us and sharing their  passion for reading. As part of the 2026 National Year of Reading, we are honoured to have  been one of only three schools selected for this project. Seeing the children’s excitement as  they received their books was truly heart-warming—a fantastic start to their lifelong reading  journey!

World Book Day!

What a fabulous Thursday we had celebrating all things books. It was amazing to see so many costumes at our  whole school parade with so many children bringing in the book that their character was from as well. Throughout the  morning, the school was full of book-related activities including mystery readers, teacher visits and more! Have a look  at some of the fabulous costumes from both students and staff…

Teachers Cycle to Paris!

This year, three of our teachers will be joining the team cycling 300km to Paris in the summer! We hope you  can support Miss Bannenberg’s, Mr Hambling’s and Mr Thomson’s efforts in any way you can, directly funding

resources for Holy Trinity School and Skylarks Charity, who support children in our community and across Richmond  with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, with much-needed free services.

Parent Consultations

This term’s parents’ evening will take place on Wednesday 11th March. Bookings went live on Monday 2nd March.  Please book a slot with your child’s teacher to hear about their progress and learning in school. If this time is not  convenient for you then please contact your teacher directly as they may be able to offer you a ten-minute slot before  or after school one day at both your and their convenience. In order to keep our children who attend clubs safe,  parents will only be able to access the school premises from the Carrington Road entrance for this evening.

Share and Care Collective

All around the country, there are people who sometimes need a little bit of extra help

buying food and toiletries for their family. Share & Care Collective is a small local charity that helps  local families with weekly supplies of food and toiletries during term time. They collect donations  from across the community and work in partnership with local primary schools to distribute our  support bags. We have agreed to host a collection box for this charity. If you would like to donate, please take your  items to Mrs Prendergast and Mrs Bell in the office. Thank you to those who are already donating.

Staff Update

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that Miss Brunt is expecting a baby! She is due over the summer  holidays so will continue as normal in school until the end of the academic year.

Safeguarding

Mr George, Miss Brunt, Mrs Allard and Mrs Bell can be contacted at the school using their emails (which are on the  school website), or you can use our new safeguarding email, which is: safeguarding@htprimary.com . Our  Safeguarding Governors are Francis Neal and Helen Taylor, and they can be contacted via email using the links on the  school website, linked here.
