Newsletter 27th March 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have come to the end of another term – it hardly seems 5 minutes ago that we were shivering our way into school in early January! Eils joined us on Monday to have some inspirational worship around ‘What kind of King?’, and I think her line from scripture, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord’, which underpinned the discussions and learning, really resonates at Easter time.

We say goodbye to two members of the Holy Trinity team at this time: Chloe Newman, our marketing manager, will no longer be with us as she steps up her work with her other clients. Chloe has been instrumental in helping us build our strategy for letting the wider public know what makes Holy Trinity so great, and we would like to thank her for all her cheerful, happy and tireless work she has done for us.

We also take this time to say goodbye to Miss Lewis, who has worked at Holy Trinity for over 12 years in various guises! Miss Lewis is going on to teach at another school in the borough, and we want to wish her every happiness and success in her new role. We know she will be amazing as ever – thank you for uplifting our days, and for everything you have done for us at Holy Trinity.

Do have a wonderful Easter break, and we look forward to seeing you back on Monday 13 April at the usual time!

Best wishes,

Mr George

Trips, visits and events

Marvellous Maths Day

HT celebrated World Maths Day on Wednesday with a visit from Dave Hickory – known as Marvellous Magical Maths. He launched an assembly full of balloons all about shape and size before delivering workshops to each phase. The ‘magical’ element he brought to each session definitely inspired lots of our students.

High Ashurst

Year 5 went on a fabulous trip to High Ashurst which was filled with fun and adventures. From rock climbing to abseiling, den and fire building, it was jam-packed full of fun. A huge thank you to Mr Hambling and Mr Collett for giving up their time and organising such a fab trip.

Spring Concert

Mrs Barclay organised a brilliant Spring Concert where children from across the school performed individually, in groups and as year groups. Of course, the staff band couldn’t miss the opportunity for a little performance too! The musicians were spectacular having practised in their break and lunch times, at home and wherever a spare minute could be found – they really blew the school away. Well done to Mrs Barclay and all the musicians for bringing such joy to our end of term.

Year 3 Music Trip

On Monday, Year 3 took the train all the way to Waterloo and had a fabulous time at the Royal Festival Hall. The children experienced the world-class Philharmonic Orchestra first-hand, in a concert specially tailored for children. We were lucky enough to hear some very famous pieces of music including Beethoven’s First Symphony, Nimrod and the theme from the Avengers movies.

Year 1 St Matthias’

Year 1 had a wonderful visit to St Matthias Church in Richmond, where they explored the features of a Christian place of worship. The children had the opportunity to speak with Reverend Anne, who kindly shared her knowledge and answered their thoughtful questions. During the visit, the pupils learned more about the Christian faith and the importance of the church within the community. The children were praised for their impeccable behaviour throughout the trip, making it an engaging and memorable experience for all.

Kingfisher Forest School

Kingfisher Class enjoyed a beautiful spring morning at Forest School. With the warmer weather, the children were delighted to discover newts emerging from hibernation and enjoyed identifying various mini-beasts tucked away in the undergrowth. They even crafted Easter bunnies using natural materials found around them. It was a wonderful, hands-on session that complemented our ongoing learning about growth and life cycles.

Notices and Requests

House Point Announcement

We are thrilled to announce that Seacole has emerged as the winner of our second half-termly House Point competition! Over the past five weeks, students have been diligently collecting points by embodying our core Holy Trinity values of Aspiration, Love, and Community. It was an incredibly tight race between Rashford, Attenborough, Seacole, and Pankhurst, with a mere 1.5-point average separating the entire leaderboard. However, with an impressive average of 25.4 points per child, Seacole has taken the lead. As a reward, Seacole students are invited to an Own Clothes Day on Friday, 17th April, where they may wear their own clothes provided they include at least one item in their House colour of red.

Kingfisher Fund

A huge THANK YOU from all of us at HT for your generosity. We mentioned last week how the funding has been spent. If you would be interested in contributing to our Kingfisher fund, either as a one-off donation or regular monthly payment, our bank details are as follows:

Teachers Cycle to Paris!

This year, three of our teachers will be joining the team cycling 300km to Paris in the summer! We hope you can support Miss Bannenberg’s, Mr Hambling’s and Mr Thomson’s efforts in any way you can, directly funding resources for Holy Trinity School and Skylarks Charity, who support children in our community and across Richmond with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, with much-needed free services.

Below you can find the links to each teacher’s fundraising page:

 Share and Care Collective

All around the country, there are people who sometimes need a little bit of extra help buying food and toiletries for their family. Share & Care Collective is a small local charity that helps local families with weekly supplies of food and toiletries during term time. They collect donations from across the community and work in partnership with local primary schools to distribute our support bags. We have agreed to host a collection box for this charity. If you would like to donate, please take your items to Mrs Prendergast and Mrs Bell in the office. Thank you to those who are already donating.

Safeguarding

Mr George, Miss Brunt, Mrs Allard and Mrs Bell can be contacted at the school using their emails (which are on the school website), or you can use our new safeguarding email, which is: safeguarding@htprimary.com . Our Safeguarding Governors are Francis Neal and Helen Taylor, and they can be contacted via email using the links on the school website, linked here.
