Dear Parents and Carers,

We really have shown Holy Trinity as Life in All Its Fullness this week! We are really proud of our Year 6 cohort who worked extremely hard this week to show off just how fabulous they are. They sat their SATs, and so many adults commented on how diligent and hardworking they were. They took pride in their work and really tried their best – all traits we are extremely proud to foster at HT. They now know what their production will be for the end of term, and have enjoyed receiving their hoodies today too. The children are welcome to wear them in school, but it is the parents’ choice whether they wear them to and from school, as we are aware that their names are on the arms.

Excitingly, we are relaunching our Instagram and Facebook accounts to show off to our community how fabulous we are. Do have a look at the poster at the end of the newsletter, where you can find a QR code with the link and more details.

After a week of rather weird weather, let’s hope things settle down and the summery weather joins us for the rest of this half term.

Trips, visits and events

Year 2 Visit The Tower of London

Year 2 had an amazing time exploring and learning about the history of

the Tower of London. The historic guides and Mr George had so many

thrilling stories about the Tower throughout the ages. Thank you to all

the parents and staff that made the day happen.

Choir Sing at May Fair on Richmond Green

Our KS1 and KS2 choir gave a spectacular performance at the Richmond May Fair last

Saturday. Not only did the children give a brilliant performance on stage – they were also

being broadcasted live on Riverside Radio! Many families joined together in the audience

and it was a wonderful example of our strong and supportive Holy Trinity

School community.

Reception Trip to Orleans Gallery

Miss Kelly’s Kingfisher class enjoyed a fabulous day at Orleans Gallery. The children

participated in an artist-led workshop, experimenting with different mediums and techniques and had fun using viewfinders to find fresh perspectives in the gallery grounds. The children

were all very inspired with their creative choices and showed lots of creativity. Following a

busy morning, everyone enjoyed a picnic and games in the sunshine before catching the bus

back to school. The children demonstrated our school values throughout the whole day and

we are very proud of them! A big thank you to our parent helpers, the smooth running of the day would not have been possible without your support.

Share Our Learning

On Monday 18^th May, your child’s classroom will be open from the end of the day (3:30ish) until 4:15pm. Please avoid walking around the school as clubs will be continuing as normal; please enter and exit the Share Our Learning experience through your child’s external classroom door. Mr George and Mr Bell will circulate the building (in the playground area) to ensure everyone is with their adult and in the right place. As clubs (including Kingfisher) are on, this is not time for families to stay behind to use the premises for games or other purposes. Finally, for safeguarding reasons, the back gate will be closed at 3:40 so please leave through Carrington Road.

Library Stock check

We are so lucky to have such a fabulous parent community. On Thursday 21^st May, a very generous parent and many of the PTA have offered to give up their time and expertise to ‘reset’ our KS2 library. This will involve checking the books that we have, rotating some less popular books and ensuring the system is up and working for all students. With this in mind, please return as many library books as possible ahead of this date. We will then give children the chance to take a book or two home on Friday 22^nd May ahead of half term. Thank you for your support in advance.

Get Ready to Read to the Beat!

We are excited to announce the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge: Read to the Beat! This year’s theme celebrates the intersection of music and literature. Open to all students from Reception to Year 6, the challenge encourages children to read six library books (or complete six challenges) to earn stickers, a medal, and a certificate. Sign-ups begin on Saturday, 4 July, at your local Richmond upon Thames library, and the challenge runs until 5 September. Join in the fun and keep reading over the summer! We will have a librarian visit on Tuesday, 9 June, to introduce this.

Volunteering

It is such a joy being able to take your children on school trips and enhance their educational opportunities. In order to do this though, we often need parent support and volunteers. In these cases, it is best practice for all our volunteers to be DBS checked. If you are likely to volunteer then please do go to Mrs Prendergast in the office who will be able to discuss the next steps in getting this sorted for you. DBS checks do not have an official expiry date and are considered valid for three years so it will last for a while whilst your children attend this school.

Share and Care Collective

All around the country, there are people who sometimes need a little bit of extra help buying food and toiletries for their family. Share & Care Collective is a small local charity that helps local families with weekly supplies of food and toiletries during term time. They collect donations from across the community and work in partnership with local primary schools to distribute our support bags. We have agreed to host a collection box for this charity. If you would like to donate, please take your items to Mrs Prendergast and Mrs Bell in the office. Thank you to those who are already donating.

Teachers Cycle to Paris!

This year, three of our teachers will be joining the team cycling 300km to Paris in the summer! We hope you can support Miss Bannenberg’s, Mr Hambling’s and Mr Thomson’s efforts in any way you can, directly funding resources for Holy Trinity School and Skylarks Charity, who support children in our community and across Richmond with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, with much-needed free services.
