Dear Parents and Carers,

Today has been a difficult week for me personally, delivering the news to staff, governors, parents and especially  the children that I will be moving on at the end of this term. I find comfort in Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever  you go.”

However, we have six fantastic weeks left at Holy Trinity before the break, and I look forward to sharing the joys  of HT life fully with you before then. I am particularly looking forward to HT in The Park next Friday, and of course our  summer fair on 4th July – I look forward to catching up with you then!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Best wishes,

Mr George

Trips, visits and events

Science Week

What a spectacular week we’ve had! The school has been buzzing with energy and curiosity as the children  jumped headfirst into our Health and Fitness STEM Week. Our young scientists truly turned on their investigative  minds, asking brilliant questions and taking part in many experiments. We focused on four core areas: ● Strength & Muscles: Exploring how our bodies move and lift.

  • Endurance & the Heart: Discovering how our circulatory system powers us through exercise. ● Nutrition & Digestion: Tracking food’s journey and how it fuels our bodies.
  • Hygiene & Personal Health: Learning how rest and cleanliness keep us strong.

This topic linked beautifully with our PE lessons. The children didn’t just learn the science—they experienced it  practically by measuring heart rates during sprints and testing muscle endurance in fitness circuits. To make it even  more exciting, some year groups adopted fun themes, transforming into training camp from  Gladiators and Superheroes to bring a creative twist to their scientific discoveries. The children have learned so much  and are incredibly inspired to stay active and healthy. To keep that momentum going, we have a surprise… We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Joe Wicks is coming to our school next week to lead a live, whole-school  PE lesson!

Notices and Requests

Considerate Parking Please

We have been contacted by members of our community regarding parking during drop-off and pick-up times.  Please show consideration for our neighbours locally but especially on Sheen Common Drive and do not block or park  across driveways. Even short stops prevent residents from leaving their homes and cause understandable frustration.  If no immediate space is available, please park further up the road where it is safe and clear to do so. Thank you for

your cooperation in maintaining respectful relations with our local community.

Leavers

If there are any parents with children in Reception to Year 5 who will be leaving Holy Trinity at the end of term,  please contact Mrs Prendergast (lprendergast@htprimary.com) for a leaver’s form. Richmond Admissions are asking for  our projected numbers in each year group so that they are in a position to start making offers to other families. Many  thanks.

Get Ready to Read to the Beat!

We are excited to announce the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge: Read to the Beat! This year’s theme  celebrates the intersection of music and literature. Open to all students from Reception to Year 6, the challenge  encourages children to read six library books (or complete six challenges) to earn stickers, a medal, and a certificate.  Sign-ups begin on Saturday, 4 July, at your local Richmond upon Thames library, and the challenge runs until 5  September. Join in the fun and keep reading over the summer! We will have a librarian visit on Tuesday, 9 June, to  introduce this.

Volunteering

It is such a joy being able to take your children on school trips and enhance their educational opportunities. In  order to do this though, we often need parent support and volunteers. In these cases, it is best practice for all our  volunteers to be DBS checked. If you are likely to volunteer then please do go to Mrs Prendergast in the office who will  be able to discuss the next steps in getting this sorted for you. DBS checks do not have an official expiry date and are  considered valid for three years so it will last for a while whilst your children attend this school.

Share and Care Collective

All around the country, there are people who sometimes need a little bit of extra help

buying food and toiletries for their family. Share & Care Collective is a small local charity that helps  local families with weekly supplies of food and toiletries during term time. They collect donations  from across the community and work in partnership with local primary schools to distribute our

support bags. We have agreed to host a collection box for this charity. If you would like to donate, please take your  items to Mrs Prendergast and Mrs Bell in the office. Thank you to those who are already donating.

Teachers Cycle to Paris!

This year, three of our teachers will be joining the team cycling 300km to Paris in the summer! We hope you  can support Miss Bannenberg’s, Mr Hambling’s and Mr Thomson’s efforts in any way you can, directly funding

resources for Holy Trinity School and Skylarks Charity, who support children in our community and across Richmond  with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, with much-needed free services.

Below you can find the links to each teacher’s fundraising page:
