Dear Parents and Carers 18/05/2023
Safeguarding Measure
Both of our school gates are open 8.40 – 9.00am and 3.10 – 3.50pm each day. Going forward, apart from these times
we will only be allowing entry to the school site via the Carrington Road gate and would ask you to exit this way too if
you are on site during the school day. We have been advised to do this as an additional safeguarding measure due to
the length of time the gate remains open after being activated by staff in the office. Please don’t ask the office staff to
make any exceptions. Arrangements remain the same for Kingfisher Club and Nursery lunchtime drop off and pick
up.
Parent questionnaire
If you haven’t already done so, we would be grateful if you could find the time to complete the annual questionnaire.
Here is the link https://forms.gle/RcGYZrDWrLTAQ5n18
The deadline for completion is Friday 9th June. Completed questionnaires go into a prize draw for a £30 M&S voucher
so add your name and phone number at the end if you would like to be included as responses are anonymous. Your
feedback is greatly appreciated.
Clarinet
A parent has donated a clarinet to school for us to pass on to anyone who we think may be able to use it. Do register
any interest at the school office.
Wellbeing Assembly
Mrs Whiteside led our termly wellbeing assembly today and reminded us of the following:
In our assembly we learnt some tips to reduce anxiety:
● Breathing
● To stop, think and ask for help
● Using Zones
● Being Kind
We learnt about the 'Science of Kindness': Kindness is more than just a ‘nice thing to do’. It plays a crucial role in our
well-being. Research has shown that kindness improves our physical and mental health – whether we’re giving
kindness, receiving kindness or even just witnessing kindness.
•Kindness can help us feel happier •Kindness is good for the heart •Kindness slows ageing •Kindness improves
relationships •Kindness is contagious!
Drop off and Pick up
For those travelling to and from school on bikes or scooters, please ask your child to walk them when on the school
premises in order to avoid accidents.
Also, children should not bring balls into the playground, play football or use the play equipment before or after school
for safety and insurance reasons. Please support us by preventing your children from doing so.

The Mayor of London is calling on young Londoners to lead the way in celebrating clean and healthy air for everyone
this Clean Air Day. The challenge is to create a new poster design to illustrate why clean air is important – to showcase
why healthy air is so vital to you and for our city, and to celebrate the steps being taken to clean the air for Londoners.
The challenge is open to London’s school children aged 4 to 14, with a deadline for submissions by midnight on
Monday 29 May. Winners will have their posters featured across London and on the Mayor of London’s social media
