Dear Parents and Carers 14/09/2023
We have had the pleasure of welcoming the first of our new Nursery and Reception children this week and look
forward to meeting the rest over the coming week.
Harvest Donations
On Friday 29th September, year 3 will be leading our Harvest Assembly (year 3 parents are welcome to attend). We
will be collecting donations for the Richmond Foodbank who rely on these to support those in our community with the
greatest needs. Items they would particularly welcome are listed on their website:
Opportunities at Holy Trinity
We are looking to recruit to cover the following:
– Kingfisher Breakfast Club (7.30-9.00)
– Kingfisher After School Club (2.30-6.00)
– Lunch Time Supervision (11.45 – 1.15)
– Nursery Support (11.15-2.15)
If you are interested in any of these, please contact the school office to find out more information and how to apply.
Volunteer librarians please
I am grateful to those of you who have already expressed an interest in volunteering to help to manage our library. If
anybody else is able to volunteer, we would be very grateful so that we can spread the load. We currently have gaps
on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings. It is not a huge time commitment but makes a huge difference to the
school’s ability to issue books to the children and in keeping the library tidy. Please email Mrs Brown
hbrown@htprimary.com so she can start to organise a rota and arrange for some training. All volunteers would have
to undertake a DBS (disclosure and barring service) check. Many thanks!
Diversity Working Party
At HT, we take great pride in our diverse and inclusive community. Our commitment to celebrating and supporting all
members of our community is at the heart of what we do and reflected in our vision and values. With this in mind, we
are setting up a positive working party dedicated to enhancing our support for and celebration of our diverse
community. We greatly value your perspectives and ideas, so if you would like to help share and shape new initiatives
and possible future events, the first meeting will take place over coffee at 8:55 am on Tuesday 19 th September (sign in
at the main office). Please let me know if you are interested in joining this group by Monday 18th September or if you
have any questions or require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me at lashby@htprimary.com.
I hope to see some of you at the first meeting. If you are unable to attend but have any suggestions or ideas that you
would like to be considered please email me as above. Best wishes, Lucy Ashby
DfE guidance regarding school attendance
There is wide agreement among health professionals and educational professionals that school attendance is vital to
the life chances of children and young people. Being in school improves health, wellbeing and socialisation throughout
the life course. The greatest benefits come from children and young people attending school regularly.
It is usually appropriate for parents and carers to send their children to school with mild respiratory illnesses. This
would include general cold symptoms: a minor cough, runny nose or sore throat. However, children should not be sent
to school if they have a temperature of 38°C or above. We would encourage you to consult the NHS ‘Is my child too ill
for school?’ guidance for further guidance.
Cycle to School Week
This year children and their families can make a pledge to cycle more during Cycle to School Week, and beyond.
Pledges are being accepted from now until Friday 25 September. Participants are asked to fill in our online form to
make a pledge. Each pledge will be entered into a prize draw to win fantastic prizes from Bikeability partners.

Christmas is coming!
Having started the school year making Cauliflower Cards for Christmas, The Mayor and Leader of the Council are also
looking for budding artists to design a Christmas Card for them to send out to local organisations. Designs should be
A5 in size and submitted by Friday 10th November either by email mayors.office@richmond.gov.uk or by post to:
Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition, Mayor’s Office, York House, Richmond Road, Twickenham TW1 3AA. Write the
name, age, school or home address on the back.
In addition to the design being made into a real card, the winner and three runners up will be invited to have tea with
the Mayor in the Parlour.
