ar Parents and Carers 21/09/2023
Year 6 arrived at Osmington bay on Monday and have been having a wonderful time there this week despite some wet and windy weather. We look forward to welcoming them back tomorrow.
Safeguarding Measure
Both of our school gates are open 8.40 – 9.00am and 3.10 – 3.50pm each day. Going forward, apart from these times we will only be allowing entry to the school site via the Carrington Road gate and would ask you to exit this way too if you are on site during the school day. We have been advised to do this as an additional safeguarding measure due to the length of time the gate remains open after being activated by staff in the office. Please don’t ask the office staff to make any exceptions. Arrangements remain the same for Kingfisher Club and Nursery lunchtime drop off and pick up.
We would also like to remind parents that they should not cut across the Reception Class outdoor area as a shortcut.
Harvest Donations
Next Friday, year 3 will be leading our Harvest Assembly (year 3 parents are welcome to attend). We will be collecting donations for the Richmond Foodbank who rely on these to support those in our community with the greatest needs. Items they would particularly welcome are listed on their website: https://richmond.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/
PTA
The PTA AGM will be held this Friday (22nd of September) at 9am in the Year 6 classroom. It’s a great opportunity to hear what we raised and spent the last school year and also to vote in a new PTA.
As you are aware, Maria and Nandana are stepping down from their role on the PTA leaving a huge void. They are currently unaware of anyone willing to take over. Do please consider gathering a group of friends and taking on this vital role for the school community – although it is hard work it can be great fun and hugely rewarding.
Values Champions
Ailbe, Imad, Rita, Aadam, Harper, Joshan, Christos, Emilia, Harry, Isabelle, Flynn, Amana, Can, Hazel, Emily, Aiden, Eric and Katie.
Attendance: Overall 98.11%; Butterfly, Dragonfly, Fox and Woodpecker class all achieved 100% – well done!
Birthday Book
Lujain from Swan Class kindly donated a birthday book this week. We hope you had a wonderful birthday Lujain.
Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccinations
Measles is highly infectious and can make your child seriously unwell. One in five children who become unwell with measles will require a hospital visit. Make sure your child is protected from becoming seriously unwell.
You can check that your child is up to date with their MMR vaccines in their red book. If your child has missed their first or second dose of the MMR vaccine, contact your GP practice or your local school age immunisation service team to book an appointment.
