Newsletter 28th September 2023

Dear Parents and Carers 28/09/2023

Year 6 had a fantastic week last week at Osmington Bay in Dorset. Some of the highlights of the week were the Giant Swing, fencing and the climbing wall. They also had a great time on the beach fossil hunting and found some amazing examples that the rain had freshly washed out of the cliffs. The children will be sharing some of their best bits in an assembly on Friday 20th October – year 6 parents are welcome.

Harvest Donations

Year 3 will be leading our Harvest Assembly tomorrow (year 3 parents are welcome to attend). We will be collecting donations for the Richmond Foodbank who rely on these to support those in our community with the greatest needs. Items they would particularly welcome are listed on their website: https://richmond.foodbank.org.uk/give-help/donate-food/

Eco Refill Shop

The Eco Refill shop will be open for business again from 3.30 3.45pm this Friday,29th September, offering refills for hand wash, laundry liquid, body wash and washing-up liquid. Please bring your own 500ml bottles and enough cash to purchase the products. Do come to buy or browse, and support this fantastic endeavour.

Timestables Rockstars & Numbots

This week, your children have been sent home with a letter. This letter has your child’s personal logins for either Timestables Rockstars (Year 3 – 6) or Numbots (Year 1-3). In order to support children with their deep understanding in maths, they need to be fluent in their number bonds and times tables. These games provide a fun learning opportunity (with some competition too!) for students at Holy Trinity. Each week, a ‘RockStar’ or ‘Numbot Champion’ will be announced in our Values Champions assembly. The award will go to those children who are working hardest to improve their number sense and fluency in ‘the basics’. The algorithms within the website will pitch the tasks according to your child’s current ability – it will advance them accordingly. We recommend using these websites to support with home learning too. Any questions then please do speak with Miss Brunt (Year 3).

Parent Consultation Meetings

These will take place on Wednesday 18th October between 2pm and 7pm. Bookings will go live on 11th October.

Values Champions

Carl, Sidney, Joel, Oliver, Elsie, Patrick, Sophie, Jonathan, Toby, Beth, Fraser, Abigale, Ajai, Jonalyn, Ava, Matias, Leela, Nicolas, Maya, Chloe, Nayan, Sophia, David and Laure.

I am writing to let you know about a writing competition called the ‘Young Writers ‘. Some of your children may have taken part in the competition over the last few years.  It is a chance for young storytellers and poets to become a published author and even win a selection of books. All entries must be submitted via the website. Please see the link below for more information and how to submit etc: https://artsrichmond.org.uk/arts-richmond-events .Don’t forget to also send a copy to your child’s class teacher so that they can see the wonderful writing that is being produced.
