Dear Parents and Carers 22/02/2024
History Day
Mr Auton kicked off our British History Day with a great assembly demonstrating how we learn history in chronological
order through our school. He also shared some historical artefacts to see if the children could guess which period of
history they were from. The children took part in a number of workshops and activities including archaeological digs to
discover buried artefacts.
World Book Day
Week commencing 4th March, we will be celebrating World Book Day. If children wish to dress up as a book character
on Thursday 7th March, we will be having a costume parade.
Nursery applications
Applications for nursery enrolment in September 2024 close on Friday March 1st . If your child was born between
01/09/2020 and 31/08/2021 and you are interested in them joining our nursery, please come to the office for an
application form or download one from our website. We also need to take a copy of your child’s birth certificate or
passport. Offers will be sent out in early May.
Safeguarding Concern
On Monday evening (just before 4.30) when our gates were open to allow parents in to pick up children from after
school clubs, the man in the image entered our premises and school building. He stole a handbag from under a
teacher’s desk and credit cards from one of our cleaners bags. When we tracked him on CCTV, he then went into any
room that had nobody in it at the time. We would be grateful for any information about who this is so that we can
inform the police.
As a result of this incident, we have reviewed our systems and from Monday we will ask parents to collect their
children from after school clubs at the Carrington Road gate which will otherwise be locked. We will be asking our
club providers to bring the children out to you.
School Street
The School Travel Advisor for Richmond is currently reviewing and updating the School Streets webpages to better
inform residents and others about the programme’s rationale. They would love to include any positive comments from
any member of our community about your experiences with School Streets.
The quote should be around 2/3 sentences long and could answer some of the following questions:
● How has it changed the start/end of the school day?
● Are there any new habits and behaviours?
● Have you made any memories during the scheme?
If you could send any comments to me abateman@htprimary.com to compile, I will forward them. If your comment
were to be shared on their webpages it would probably be attributed to ‘Parent/Pupil at Holy Trinity School’.
Easter Egg Competition
The annual blown egg competition will take place as usual this year. Please bring in any entries on Monday 25th March
ready for judging. The theme that has been suggested this year for the competition is, ‘What will Mrs Bateman do in
her retirement?’ Good luck!

Measles cases are rising in London – information and catch up clinics
Cases of measles are rising in London, and many young people are not protected. Measles spreads very easily among
people that are unvaccinated. Measles can be an unpleasant illness, and for some it can be very serious and lead to
hospitalisation. Two doses of the MMR vaccine offers the most effective protection against measles for children and
young people. You can check that you are up-to-date with your vaccinations by checking your red book or contacting
your GP practice. More information about the MMR vaccine can be found on the NHS website. The MMR vaccine is
free on the NHS. It is never too late to catch up.
The Schools Age Immunisations Team are offering children and young people the opportunity to attend catch-up
clinics, to ensure that they receive two doses of the MMR vaccine. Parents can visit the HRCH website to find more
information about their local vaccine clinic and how to book an appointment. Click here for resources and to read
more.
