Dear Parents and Carers ,
We have been delighted to welcome our new nursery and reception children into school this week. They have been very busy exploring and settling into their new environments! A big warm welcome to all our new families that have joined our HT community, it is wonderful to have you here.
This week the children have been busy settling into their new classes and routines. We have had all of our ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions to share our curriculum with you, if you missed them please do ask us any questions you may have. Our Year six children and staff are off on their residential to Osmington Bay in Dorset on Monday and at last the weather looks more promising! We hope they have the very best time and make memories to cherish forever.
Message from Mrs Evans |
It’s hard to believe that we are already coming to the end of our first full week back together. This morning in worship we began to explore ‘British Values’. This is the start of a series of worships which I will be leading with our pupils to talk about: what British Values are, how they link to our school values, what the Bible says about them and how we can demonstrate them in our actions. Today we focused on ‘Individual Liberty’. I explained that this means the freedom to make our own choices and hold our own opinions and beliefs. I asked the children to consider if this means that we can just do whatever we want? We reflected on the fact that it doesn’t – sometimes our decisions have to be made within certain guidelines and sometimes we have to consider our actions and how we share thoughts and opinions so that we don’t hurt others. I shared Galatians 5v13-14: “My brothers, God called you to be free. But do not use your freedom as an excuse to do the things that please your sinful self. Serve each other with love. The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” and we discussed the fact that these verses call us to consider others in the choices that we make. Next week we will consider what this looks like in our actions everyday.
Notices and requests |
Kingfisher Wraparound Care Update
Holly and the team have been working incredibly hard to increase capacity at Kingfisher Club as this is extremely popular within the community. She has created a fabulous environment for our pupils and we are very grateful for the hard work that has gone into this by her and her team. We are currently settling our new Reception children in and will then be working through the waiting list to begin to offer out any spaces that we have following changes in the requirements of families over the summer. If you are on the waiting list, please bear with us.
For families who are already using the service, to support us with safeguarding, please ensure that you see one of the group leaders when you come to collect and ensure that your child is signed out on the main register before leaving the site.
