Dear Parents and Carers ,
It has been wonderful to have our year 6 children back in school this week after their trip to Osmington Bay in Dorset. What a delight to hear about all their adventures and achievements. So many stories of excitement, courage, resilience, kindness and teamwork. They really did reflect our values of love, aspiration and community.
It has been a pleasure to welcome staff to Holy Trinity from a number of other schools to observe and improve their maths practise with our lead maths teacher, Miss Brunt.
Trips, visits and events |
Year 2’s ‘Wet-land’ experience!
Year 2 had a fantastic time at Sheen Common on Monday after their trip to the Wetlands centre was postponed due to rain. The children explored various plants and animals while navigating the muddy trails in their wellies. They picnicked outside in high spirits and took part in a scavenger hunt, using different adjectives to describe natural objects outside. A big thank you to all the parent helpers and to everyone for being so flexible with the change of plans!
Message from Mrs Evans |
Well autumn is definitely setting in here at Holy trinity this week. The school has been busy with children focusing on their exciting new topics. It has been wonderful to see such a broad range of activities taking place across the school as I have made my way around. Next week we begin our tours for Reception 2025 – do make sure you encourage anyone you know in the local area who is looking for a school place to come and visit us.
This morning we focused on ‘The Rule of Law’. We considered why rules are important and agreed that these help us to feel and stay safe and to ensure that things are fair. We thought about some of the rules that we have here at school and what would happen if we did not have any rules at all. We considered the question: “Does it matter if you break the rules if no-one is watching?” and reflected on the message in Romans 2:13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.” We agreed that we should do the right thing even when no-one is watching and challenged the children to do this at all times this week. I closed worship by asking the children to honestly reflect on whether there are rules that they find hard to follow and what they can do to make this easier for them individually or as a group. We closed our worship with prayers led by two of the children and sang ‘My Lighthouse’ which reminds us to use Jesus’s light as a guide for us all in our behaviours.
Earlier in the week, Dan shared his news (more information below) with me and I know that the whole community will want to find a way to say thank you to him later on in the term for all that he has brought to Holy trinity in the last 6 years. You will see him many times this term, so please do take some time to thank him and wish him luck.
News from Holy Trinity Church |
I wanted to share with you all that I am going to be moving on from being vicar at Holy Trinity Church in the new year. It’s been such a privilege to be part of the school community over the past six years, and I look forward to continuing to be involved until I finish on Sunday 12th January. There will be more news about what is happening next at the church in due course, but I know that both the school and church will continue to work for the good of all the pupils at the school into the future.
With much love, Dan Wells
Notices and requests |
Outdoor P.E
Please bring a waterproof jacket in case the weather is poor so that where possible we can continue with our lessons.
Welcome to Adam Smith, our school mentor
We were delighted to welcome our new mentor, Adam, into school today. He will be in every Friday supporting our children and community in a variety of ways.
Calling any further parent volunteers…
We are still searching for volunteers for the Junior Library, we would love any parents who can help for even half an hour 1 morning a week to organise the books and also help children who are new to the system. Please don’t worry if you don’t have any experience as we would provide some training as well. Please email either Mrs Brown (hbrown@htprimary.com) or Miss Merrett (hmerrett@htprimary.com) if you would be interested in this. Thank you so very much for the two parents who have offered some time, we are so grateful!
Eco Refill Rescue shop
Our refill shop will reopen after school today outside the Year 3 & 4 classes. Please bring any empty containers you wish to fill (or refill!) – we have a selection of products including body washes, hand washes, washing up liquid and washing liquid for your clothes. There is a drop off box outside reception for any named empties if you need anything sooner.

Pupil Parliament
Last week our Year 6 children prepared a speech which they made during hustings to their classes about what they would do to support our young people and local area if they were voted in as members of Richmond’s pupil parliament. Their speeches were excellent and generated some really good discussion and debates. The children took a blind vote and we would like to congratulate Lucas and Emily for being appointed. They will represent Holy Trinity at the next pupil parliament meeting in Twickenham later this year.
