Friday 28th February 2025
Dear Parents and Carers ,
We welcomed Matt from Holy Trinity church to our collective worship on Monday. He talked about ‘fair or unfair’, doing the ‘right thing’ and acting justly. The children really enjoyed singing and taking part, and it was a really lively time in the school hall!
I have recently spent time together with other headteachers from Kingston and Richmond, and was lucky enough to hear wise words from, amongst others, Simon Mundie on cultivating good mental health for schools, staff and children, as well as a session from Lemn Sissay who was the official poet of the London Olympics. These kinds of speakers help us as teachers to find new inspiration when working in our schools; I am glad to say that the pupils at Holy Trinity inspire me every day – and I was sorry to miss out on the Goldilocks and Porridge tasting in Nursery. I am told they have saved some for me! Do have a good weekend with your family and community.
Best wishes,
Mr George

Butterflies pull on their wellies for Forest School
Butterflies had a wonderful time at a very muddy forest school on Monday. Children used natural materials to make flags, supporting what they are learning in DT and Geography this term. They also had lots of fun playing in the mud kitchen, climbing on ropes and picking up worms!

We’d love to invite you to join us for a tea or coffee and a scone before pick up on the 13th March. A chance to catch up and say hello!

ECO Poster Competition
Wow, we have such talented artists at Holy Trinity! We have displayed all entries. A winner will be announced soon.
International Food Festival 25th March
We are holding our International Food Festival again during the morning of 25th March! Last year’s festival was such an incredible success and a highlight of the Spring term; a chance to really celebrate our cultural richness and share the different cuisines linked to our heritages with our community.
Please can your child bring in a plate of bite-sized nibbles to share with our community; it may be tasters of a family favourite (sweet or savoury), from England or some traditional food linked to your culture or heritage. The children just loved experiencing different foods from around the world and enjoying dishes that were community favourites. Please label your plate of food with the ingredients, (and vegetarian/vegan/gluten/dairy) for our children with allergies and intolerances. Please keep an eye out for sign-up sheets through your class reps. We are looking for a few volunteers to support our HT Friends throughout the morning, please email me or let your parent rep know if you would like to come in and join us.
Any leftovers we will be sharing with you all outside the main gates at pick up time!

HT are sponsoring a family in Uganda
Through the charity Karis Kids, we now have a family that we are sponsoring in Uganda, which is so exciting! Gloria is a single mum with three of her own children, Davis (16), Blessing (10) and Kalvin (6). She has another three children she has taken into her family, her nephew, Steven (12), as her sister died and two grandchildren, Peter (10) and Christopher (8), from her daughter who sadly passed away. They live together in the slums of Kampala.
We will be organising ways to connect with the family and support them over the next few weeks and months, and would love to do some fundraising to help Gloria with everyday items such as clothing, and school fees so that they can all be educated.
Nursery applications
Applications for nursery enrolment in September 2025 close on March 1st – tomorrow. If your child was born between 01/09/2021 and 31/08/2022 and you are interested in them joining our nursery, please email lprendergast@htprimary.com for an application form, or download one from our website. We also need to take a copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport (with visa clearance if required). Offers will be sent out in late April. We will accept late applications, but these will only be considered once all on-time applications have received an offer.
Collection by car in Carrington Road
We have had a request from a neighbour in Carrington Road to ask parents that are collecting following after school clubs to make sure that they aren’t parked over anybody’s drive. Thank you.
School Uniform
We are very proud of how smart our children look in their Holy Trinity uniforms. Please take time this weekend to check that your child is in the correct outfit for school, as we have seen a few individual items creeping in since our return. Please also check that all uniforms are named, including coats.
In particular, please ensure that your child is wearing sensible black shoes (no trainers or boots) and that they are wearing smart dark grey trousers/shorts or a navy dress/skirt.
