Newsletter 21st March 2025

Friday 21st March 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

The sunrises this week have been spectacular as I drive into work, and the wonderful colours of the sun and clear skies, although cold, are really inspirational. It was wonderful to see so many of you at Parents’ Evening on Tuesday – although 10 minutes never seems long enough to speak to you about your amazing child, it does give us a chance to see you in person and make that special link, which is all part of our Community value at Holy Trinity. I will be spending the weekend attending to various maintenance jobs around the house and garden, weather permitting – I hope that you have an enjoyable weekend with your family and friends in our wonderful Holy Trinity community.

Best wishes,

Mr George

Trips, visits and events

Celebrating all things science!

This week we have been celebrating STEM Week across the school. The theme for this year has been Change and Adapt and the children have been looking at how living things (including humans!) need to adapt to our changing world. We have carried out lots of exciting investigations, including looking at how to help bees, how different animals are adapting to our changing climate, the best materials to filter dirty water, and how to extract DNA from strawberries. We have also carried out a whole school data collection experiment to find out if our reaction times get quicker as we get older (they do!) and Years 2, 4 and 6 enjoyed a computing workshop with Dr Wilson using our Micro:bits as data loggers. We are looking forward to sharing our learning this afternoon in a whole school assembly.

Foxes explore at Forest School

Foxes had a wonderful day in their outdoor classroom on Monday! They madeChinese New Year snakes out of wood and string; did lots of bug hotel building; had a tug-o-war competition and made woodland animals out of clay.

What a wonderful concert!

Year 4 showcased their musical talents last week in a wonderful brass performance to their parents and carers. Over the past 8 weeks they have had the opportunity to learn either a cornet, trombone or baritone offered to us by Richmond Music Trust. We are very proud of their achievements!

Notices and requests

International Food Festival TUESDAY 25th March

Our International Food Festival is on Tuesday! (25th March) Please bring in a plate of bite-sized nibbles to share with our community. It may be tasters of a family favourite (sweet or savoury) from England or some traditional food linked to your culture or heritage. The children just loved experiencing different foods from around the world and enjoying dishes that were community favourites. It really helps them to recognise and celebrate what a wonderfully diverse community we have here at HT. The children can wear any national dress/clothing that is linked to their heritage if they would like to. Please label your plate of food with the ingredients, (and vegetarian/vegan/gluten/dairy) for our children with allergies and intolerances.

Any leftovers we will be sharing with you all by the main gates at pick up time!

If you can help us on the day please let us know through the google link: https://forms.gle/uD9ydiCEtE9ur9mi7

Thank you!
