Dear Parents and Carers,

After a very busy week, we look forward to relaxing at the weekend. I intend to cut my grass, which has gone  rather wild with the recent combination of wet and dry weather, which will disappoint my cats who have been stalking  each other as tigers in the jungle!

Do enjoy this weekend, but also please ensure that you and your families remain safe, particularly around our  busy roads, and of course around any water courses. Linked to this, my thoughts for this weekend come from Numbers  6, 24:26: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn  his face toward you and give you peace.”

Have a wonderful weekend.

Best wishes,

Mr George

Trips, visits and events

Year 4 Forest School

Year 4 had an absolute blast during their day at Forest School this week. They started the morning by lifting up  rocks and turning over old logs to find all sorts of interesting bugs and creepy crawlies hiding underneath. Afterwards,  they headed over to the pond to peer beneath the lily pads and investigate what was living in the water. They also  tapped into their creative side, using natural clay to sculpt some fantastic coins. They ended the week at Barnes  Literature Festival – a busy one for them!

Pirate Day in Nursery

Rainbow class came to Nursery ready to set sail on the seven seas as pirates! They found a

message in a bottle with clues to a treasure chest that we all got to share at snack time! A great day  to raise donations for the Chocolate Tombola stall at the school fair.

HT in the Park

On Friday evening music filled the air as we welcomed the return of our summer music

festival ‘HT in the Park’. After a wet week the sunshine made an appearance, as families and friends  gathered together on the 3G pitch with their picnics and picnic blankets to watch our very own Holy  Trinity music superstars perform on the stage. The music line up was comprised of some of the  following: songs from our Year 6 Leavers, a violin solo, HT’s Got Talent 2025 winners ‘The French  Baguettes’, a spectacular ballet performance, the Masked Singer, various Year 5 and 6 bands, the  parent band and our very own staff band. We are incredibly thankful to our wonderful PTA for their  organisation, support and hard work in making it a memorable evening. A huge thank you to the  parents and staff members who supported the event.

Year 2 Barnes Literature Festival

Our visit to the Barnes Festival at Richmond Theatre was a truly fabulous

experience! In the wonderful setting of Richmond Theatre, the children were delighted to  meet Serena Patel, who shared stories about her popular book series Anisha, Accidental

Detective and Piya’s Pet Club. She spoke about her life, her journey to becoming an author,  and the inspirations behind her writing. HT even received a special shout-out from Serena! The children asked a range of thoughtful and humorous questions, making the session

rather lively! They left feeling inspired and described the experience as “fabulous” and

“fantastic” – a fitting summary of a brilliant day celebrating books and reading.

Notices and Requests

Games and Toys in School

We kindly ask that children leave all personal toys, stationary, and keyrings at home, as these can easily go  missing or cause upset and competition in the classroom. The school provides all the learning resources your child  needs for the day. To keep things simple, bags only need to contain a reading book, a water bottle, a healthy snack,  and a lunchbox (if they aren’t having school dinners). Please support us in ensuring your children do not bring items  like this in.

Calling All Football-Loving Dads!

Fancy a kickabout to celebrate the World Cup. Join our friendly Dads’ Football game every Friday evening from 6-7pm  at Richmond Park Academy (astroturf pitch). It’s a relaxed, welcoming group—great fun, good exercise, and zero  pressure. Whether you’re match-fit or just miss the beautiful game, we’d love to have you. Interested? Drop Sam a message at samknight44@yahoo.co.uk to get involved!

Leavers

If there are any parents with children in Reception to Year 5 who will be leaving Holy Trinity at the end of term,  please contact Mrs Prendergast (lprendergast@htprimary.com) for a leaver’s form. Richmond Admissions are asking for  our projected numbers in each year group so that they are in a position to start making offers to other families. Many  thanks.

KIngfisher Club Job Vacancy

We have a job vacancy in our after school (Kingfisher Club) from September. This is from 2.30pm to 6pm on Monday  to Thursday or Monday to Friday. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please email Mrs Prendergast  – lprendergast@htprimary.com for the job description and person specification. If you have any questions about the  role, please speak to Holly Arbery who runs the club (harbery@htprimary.com).

Volunteering

It is such a joy being able to take your children on school trips and enhance their educational opportunities. In  order to do this though, we often need parent support and volunteers. In these cases, it is best practice for all our  volunteers to be DBS checked. If you are likely to volunteer then please do go to Mrs Prendergast in the office who will  be able to discuss the next steps in getting this sorted for you. DBS checks do not have an official expiry date and are  considered valid for three years so it will last for a while whilst your children attend this school.

Share and Care Collective

All around the country, there are people who sometimes need a little bit of extra help

buying food and toiletries for their family. Share & Care Collective is a small local charity that helps  local families with weekly supplies of food and toiletries during term time. They collect donations  from across the community and work in partnership with local primary schools to distribute our

support bags. We have agreed to host a collection box for this charity. If you would like to donate, please take your  items to Mrs Prendergast and Mrs Bell in the office. Thank you to those who are already donating.

Teachers Cycle to Paris!

This year, three of our teachers will be joining the team cycling 300km to Paris in the summer! We hope you  can support Miss Bannenberg’s, Mr Hambling’s and Mr Thomson’s efforts in any way you can, directly funding  resources for Holy Trinity School and Skylarks Charity, who support children in our community and across Richmond  with additional needs and disabilities, and their families, with much-needed free services.

Below you can find the links to each teacher’s fundraising page:

Safeguarding

After School Playground Time

Following several complaints this week regarding unsupervised children, unsafe accidents, and dangerous  behaviour after the children have been dismissed, we kindly ask all parents to leave the premises promptly at  dismissal. Please remember that bicycles must not be ridden in the playground and the climbing frames are uninsured  after 3:30 PM. We highly recommend taking advantage of this lovely hot weather by heading over to Richmond Park  or Sheen Common, where the children can play safely and contently.

Mr George, Miss Brunt, Mrs Allard, Mr Auton and Mrs Bell can be contacted at the school using their emails (which are  on the school website), or you can use our new safeguarding email, which is: safeguarding@htprimary.com . Our  Safeguarding Governors are Francis Neal and Helen Taylor, and they can be contacted via email using the links on the  school website, linked here.
