Parents and Carers,
What an extraordinary week we have had, with such extreme weather! I hope that everyone has managed, and that the small change with voluntary pick-up helped those who needed to take advantage of the offer. Moving forward, we are heading towards the end of term (still 3 weeks left), with the summer fair and various final assemblies, so do keep an eye on your emails for any further notifications. Thank you to everyone who enquired about my grass cutting – I was lucky enough to get a new lawnmower, so the hard work of the last year in my jungle instead became 45 minutes of ease!!! I think someone said that a bad workman blames their tools, but I might plead ignorance of that!
Do have a wonderful and safe weekend,
Best wishes,
Mr George

HT Cycle to Paris
We braced the heat to give a well-deserved good luck send off to our amazing community today. Mr Hambling, Mr Thomson, many parents and volunteers from local charity Skylarks set off on their 300km cycle to Paris. Not only would this be a challenge on a normal day but the weather is really going to push this group to their limits. Please do dig deep for two great causes (Skylarks Charity and HT PTA. The link to sponsor the team is here:
https://skylarks.enthuse.com/pf/paul-hambling
Good luck all – and keep us posted with your updates please!
ECO Team Trip

Members of our Eco Team had a fantastic day attending the Eco Summit
at Orleans House. The children dived into a range of inspiring activities
exploring the big question: “How can we renew our relationship with
nature?” Using an app called PlantWave, they actually got to listen to
real sounds and music created by different plants and shrubs! They also
took part in a nature conservation workshop where they learned all
about minibeasts and learnt about a group of creatures
called detritivores (animals that eat dead wood and plants to help the
ecosystem).
EYFS Farm Visit

The Nursery and Reception children were delighted to welcome a petting farm
on Wednesday morning. The farm included hand reared lambs, chicks, ducks,
rabbits, guinea pigs, a pony and a family of very cheeky pigmy goats. The children learnt how to feed and groom the animals and impressed us with their calm and gentle behaviour around them.
Year 2 Recorder Performance

Since September Year 2 have been learning the recorder each week in their Music
lessons. To celebrate their hard work and achievement they treated the whole
school to a fabulous recorder concert on Wednesday. We are very proud of them
and appreciate the support they have received at home with all of their practising!
Sporting Success!
Last week, our Year 6 girls played their last ever football match for HT. It has been incredible to see how many girls are wanting to get involved in sport. These Year 6 girls have been real role models in the way they have competed and embraced PE and sport at HT. Also, on Friday, we hosted a small Year 3 football tournament between two other local schools. Both our boys and girls teams won both of their matches. We are so proud of all our future sporting superstars.

Staff Leavers
We have a few more members of staff that will be leaving us at the end of the year. We are saying goodbye to Miss Walker, who has worked all over the school during her time here; she has qualified as a teacher and will be taking up a full-time post at another primary school. Mrs Jones, who has been at the school for over twenty years, will be retiring this summer. Finally, Miss Craig, our outstanding Assistant Teacher in Ladybird Class, is taking an exciting next step in her career to study for a Master’s degree in Psychology. We would like to say a massive thank you to all those leaving (including those previously announced). This will take place as a picnic on July 14th at 3:30-4:30pm on the 3G. Parents are welcome to collect their children then stay around for an hour whilst the staff wander around and say their goodbyes. With a value of community, it would only be right to give our wonderful staff the send-off they deserve.
Donation Request

We would like to refresh our continuous provision equipment this summer so that children in Early Years and Key Stage One continue to have access to high quality play-based learning. If you are having a clear out, we would love any donations of pre-loved:
- Duplo
- Wooden Block
- Magnatiles or other construction toys
- Educational games such as Orchard games
- Jigsaw puzzles (30 – 100 pieces)
- Small world toys (animals, people, objects)
- Wooden train sets
- Natural loose parts such as stones, pine cones or conkers
- Role play resources such as play food, play kitchen, costumes
If you have any questions about suitability, please email jwalder@htprimary.com.
Student Leavers
If there are any parents with children in Reception to Year 5 who will be leaving Holy Trinity at the end of term, please contact Mrs Prendergast (lprendergast@htprimary.com) for a leaver’s form. Richmond Admissions are asking for our projected numbers in each year group so that they are in a position to start making offers to other families. Many thanks.
Volunteering
It is such a joy being able to take your children on school trips and enhance their educational opportunities. In order to do this though, we often need parent support and volunteers. In these cases, it is best practice for all our volunteers to be DBS checked. If you are likely to volunteer then please do go to Mrs Prendergast in the office who will be able to discuss the next steps in getting this sorted for you. DBS checks do not have an official expiry date and are considered valid for three years so it will last for a while whilst your children attend this school.

After School Playground Time
Following several complaints this week regarding unsupervised children, unsafe accidents, and dangerous behaviour after the children have been dismissed, we kindly ask all parents to leave the premises promptly at dismissal. Please remember that bicycles must not be ridden in the playground and the climbing frames are uninsured after 3:30 PM. We highly recommend taking advantage of this lovely hot weather by heading over to Richmond Park or Sheen Common, where the children can play safely and contently.
Mr George, Miss Brunt, Mrs Allard, Mr Auton and Mrs Bell can be contacted at the school using their emails (which are on the school website), or you can use our new safeguarding email, which is: safeguarding@htprimary.com Our Safeguarding Governors are Francis Neal and Helen Taylor, and they can be contacted via email using the links on the school website, linked here.
