Friday 7th June 2024
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you all had a wonderful half term break. We are starting to get really excited about our fabulous summer fair event that is happening a week from tomorrow. Today we collected donations for the chocolate tombola and next Friday the children can wear their own clothes in exchange for bringing in homemade cake/s for the cake stall.
Trips, visits and events |
Ladybirds and Butterflies visit to Kew Gardens
Year One had a fantastic day at Kew Gardens. They took part in a maths workshop which had them identifying shapes in the nature around them, sorting by size and measuring trees using standard and non standard units. It was a great way to deepen their maths learning while hugging trees, and foraging for goose feathers!
Year 6 represent HT at Borough Sports
Eight of our year 6 children represented HT on Wednesday at the annual Borough Sports event at St. Mary’s College, Twickenham. They competed in several events including the vortex, standing long jump, 600m, sprints and relays. The team worked extremely well together and showed great examples of our values of community, aspiration and love, supporting and encouraging both each other and other participants. They heard words from Mo Farrah and had an
opportunity to see and handle his olympic medals! We were extremely proud of them all – they were fabulous ambassadors for the school. Thank you to Real Runners for training them over the last few weeks and also huge thanks to Mr Callaghan for organising and coordinating the Team 1000 events alongside this.
Message from Mrs Evans |
It has been a great first week back at Holy Trinity. Staff spent Monday
preparing end of year reports for the children which celebrate their
achievements this year – it has been wonderful to read these and I am
looking forward to adding my own comments on to the Reception and Year
6 ones.
I was delighted to be greeted by the completed outdoor area upgrade for
KS1 which Mr Bell has been working on (supported in some of the final
touches by Mrs Bell!) It is such a beautiful space which the children (and
staff) are looking forward to having access to from now on. A huge thank
you to Mr Bell for the time and effort that has gone into getting this
finished!
The school has been filled with music from the Year 6 production rehearsals and it is already shaping up to be fantastic! I have enjoyed spending some more time in the classrooms and had the pleasure of leading a celebration assembly this morning – it was wonderful to hear all of the reasons that values certificates had been awarded for and to celebrate the children who have achieved Bronze, Silver or Gold times tables awards! It was also lovely to see the children in their own clothes today to support the PTA in their preparations for the fair next weekend – I am looking forward to seeing many of you there.
Notices and requests |
Farewell to Miss Hancock
Miss Hancock, who currently works in Year 1, is leaving us at the end of next week to start her training as a teacher. Miss Hancock has worked with us for the past 7 years and has been heavily involved in all areas of school life across all year groups, particularly in sport and art. We would like to wish her all the very best and thank her for her love and dedication to our community.
Continuing to clock up those miles for HT – a pit stop for a coffee is always welcomed!

Miss Brunt, Mr Thomson and some members of the HT community are continuing their
training towards their goal of cycling from Richmond to Paris over 2 days at the end of
this month. They are raising money for our wonderful school and your children. Thank
you so very much to anyone who has sponsored them and the Skylarks charity so far!
50% of the funds raised go directly to HT school and 50% to Skylarks, an independent
Richmond upon Thames-based charity that provides activities and therapies for children
with disabilities and additional needs.
Leavers
If there are any parents with children in Reception to Year 5 who are leaving the school at the end of term, please confirm this with Mrs Prendergast (lprendergast@htprimary.com) in the office as soon as possible alongside the name of the school your child will be joining and your new address if applicable. Richmond Admissions are asking for our projected numbers in each year group so that they are in a position to start making offers to other children. Many thanks.
